I'm not entirely sure about the size issue yet.

There will be 3 sides, the Tiberian side, the Red Alert Side and the Generals side.

If All-Stars ended up that big, we would probably have to split the mod download into parts, such as having a seperate download for music.

We are most likely going to do that, depending on the size. There might be a map pack and other various downloads to augment the core mod.

i hope there will be a low(ish) file size. i mean, poor guys who have 56k would have a heck of a time downloading 300mb, which is about 900 floppy disks of data.

couldnt we have the download split into smaller sections? btw Marek i think the 314mb mod was RenAlert for Renegade

even blitzkrieg2 aint close to 200mb so there´s no way we could reach 300mb i think.

Poor guys with 56k shouldnt be allowed on the internet. If you don't have the sense to pay an extra 2 bucks/month for highspeed, then poop on that. lol. Even if they ordered it for one month, downloaded GB's apon GB's of info, then went back to dialup they'd be better off.

it's about 250 floppys. :)

Anyway, Blitzreig wasn't importing tons of new sounds and such.

I think it's useless to predict. Let's make it and we'll see.

Do you have any idea how hard (and expensive) it is to get high-speed internet access in rural Alaska? I'm guessing not, because you probably wouldn't be such an elitist **** if you did. Not everybody lives in the Boswash, where there are so many cable and high-quality phone lines that it is hazardous to dig anywhere.

What's Boswash?

Anyway, I think Luckie's point is a good one. Only a small fraction of people live in rural Alaska, and they might have excuses, but Luckie thinks everyone else doesn't.

I imagine that the problem exists elsewhere, at least with pricing. ($2 more for high-speed internet?)

in mountain areas this problem with be too, it would be alot more expensive to lay cabels in the ground there, even impossible in some areas so i guess it might be alot more expensive in those areas too.

and $2 more for high speed internet is hard to believe, for my dad it was €10 cheaper to get high speed internet but that was because i was on the internet way too much at that time.
