I was wondering if the mod will still work with Kane's Wrath (As I appear to have lost my original C&C3 DVD). I don't expect support for the ridiculous things, like Global Conquest, but just Skirmishes, and possibly even the Campaign Mode. If not, I'm sure I can find a used copy of Vanilla C&C3 locally on the cheap.
And now that I've stealthily slid into the topic, any Kane's Wrath style units (See: Epics) and/or subfactions? If not, I completely understand, but I mean come on, how cool would it be to have a re-possessed and re-purpose Mammoth MK-II stomping around the battlefield piloted by Mutants?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to mod Kane's Wrath, and this mod is for regular C&C 3 only. |

Oh, I had thought the SDK was out now, my mistake... I just figured it was released with the Worldbuilder.

No, but I seem to recall there being a team of volunteers that had been doing one with EA's blessing, and the team had said they had hoped to release it roughly around the same time the Worldbuilder would be done. Hi, I look forward to trying the mod; I have a (probably stupid) question about Kane's Wrath and I would really appreciate your feedback. Before I download and install the mod will I need to uninstall Kane's Wrath or can I leave it as it is on my pc and use the original DVD/CD for C&C 3 without it causing compatability issues? I think the only bad thing in this mod is that it doesn't contain the new units from Kane's Wrath. Is there any hope that his mod could some day be released for Kane's Wrath (or bring the new units back to this mod)? Apparently, not only did someone try to make an SDK for Kane's Wrath, they did. This is the link at Moddb, moddb.com. I personally think that there are a few bugs with the launcher though. For some people who have the KW xml files are more likely to get some of them into C&C3.
Besides it's already possible to add the KW changes without the KW xmls in such as: -- Engineer Capture Delay (only to enemy structures, not neutral) -- Power upgrades at tier 2 -- Engineers are no longer selected when selecting all units on the map -- Economy nerf: Harvesters at 1600, Refineries at 3000, Tiberium Spikes at 10 credits per second

Just to be clear... is there any chance that in the near future we can see this brilliant mod working on Kane's Wrath, or you're not planning to add forgotten faction[s] to KW? Cuz if yes, i'd be glad to help in it. i have no expreience in C&C3 modding whatsoever, i made mods only for Tiberian Sun / Firestorm, but if somebody can send me a link with the basics of mod making to KW, i think i could help. :)

How to make a mod for KW: - Pray that the fan-made KW Mod SDK is completed at some point.
- Wait for the fan-made KW Mod SDK to be completed.
- Use the fan-made KW Mod SDK to make your KW mod.
Seriously, stop asking us if we're going to port the mod to KW. The answer is that we won't because we can't, and that is guaranteed not to change until the fan-made KW Mod SDK is released. So don't bother us; instead, bother these people. |
