Ya, I know, here we go again.Sorry to be flogging this dead horse again but...
I have Windows 7 SP1 freshly installed and fully updated except that I removed the Safe Disk patch.I read that this patch will cause a failure to launch the game so it's GONE.
I have installed the game as Admin. Compatibility set to Win XP 3 and exe set to run as Admin. Installed patch 1.08 for Generals and created the new options.ini file.
The dang thang is still crashing. Gets to the splash screen and says Game dat has stopped working and then Windows offers to look for a solution (Ha Ha)
Is the Command and Conquer Generals Data folder in Documents supposed to be empty because mine is except for the ini file I've created.
I was playing this game not three months ago on this PC. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks people. Wally

Doesn't work either. Crazy stuff. The data folder under Program files has five folders in it. The data folder in Documents is empty. Is that normal?
