Alot of people say that around top ten there's only NOD teams.
While EVERYONE whine about NOD being useless and underpowered, what's this all about?
Also everyone says Scrin is overpowered, and then almost NOONE uses them online. No good players whatsoever.
This makes no sense...
(PS: Technique is GDI and in 1 place, but anyways)

If you are not so good at the game, you might think that scrin is best....
Mostly because noobs use to build lots of defenses and gives the enemy lots of time to tech up... Scrin may have the best late game units(tripod, assault carrier)
But pros play much more aggresive, attack early in the game, do not let their enemy tech up,...
Nod is best early game, so pros prefer

I have never lost to a NOD player while playing Scrin. Scrin are goos early play too, but n00bs just don't see that. So it's not just n00bs who play Scrin. Tank spammers play NOD, they don't have to be pros for that.

Nod sucks... but they're harder to fend off than GDI. also, only n00b scrin would forget to build some AA early on. seekers can be built before the opponent builds venoms so the venom rush is pretty easy. the scorpions too, can be countered by infantry and some seekers. Those rushers never learn to mix units thats why many use them coz they dont know how to complement their units. Edited by user Wednesday, April 18, 2007 4:21:14 AM(UTC)

NOD tank spammers are the real n00bs.
If you can't micro Scrin units then your n00b. But if you win every match with a Scrin then your good. I usually beat my opponent before a Tech Center is build.
And about 4 Devour Tanks mixed with Seekers, they own every Scorp rush. Scorps suck hard, armor made of paper and equipped with a paint gun.

Nod is nearly the same as GLA in Generals. You may notice all the pro's use GLA online. |

Not true, I have seen pros use all teams. Most noobs are interested in Scrin because of their expensive powerful late-game units, however I have still seen a few pros play as Scrin and counter Scorpion rushes. Most pros tend to favor Nod because of speed but there are plenty of pro GDI and Scrin players as well.

Haven't seen the top players myself, but alot of folks on the official forum whine about that NOD is only visible on the top ten. Not sure how accurate it is, though.

http://www.gamereplays.o...index.php?showforum=1652http://www.gamereplays.o...index.php?showforum=1653Enjoy. You will find some Nod VS Nod games but I do see a few GDI and Scrins in the mix. I haven't watched all of these myself but I will check them out later.

The problem with Nod balance-wise is that it has a lot more features that are useless against an all-seeing AI opponent (Radar Jamming Missile, Decoy Army, and the Venom's false signal upgrade). I'm a bit of a n00b in the micromanagement department, but the only things I really see going for Nod are its excellent air force (especially when compared to GDI's flying pieces of junk) and the hub-and-spoke base defenses (which force micromanagement in order to destory efficiently). |

Does the Skrid not have the best air force? |

I don't like that ALL Scrin air units are so expensive. Even the Dropship is 3000. NOD and GDI MCV is just 2500?
So Scrins cheapest air unit is Stormrider 1500. Can shoot both air and ground without reloading. Venom has the same attributes and only cost 700.

But the Dropship can fly, which can be nice when your base just got swarmed by tanks. I would pay an extra $500 for that feature. Scrin air units are far superior even though they are expensive, you could win a game by just using aircraft.
- Stormriders are much better than Venoms, the only downside is that it takes a slot on the airfield so you are limited to 4
- The Devastator Warship can outrange AA defenses, they are pretty much flying artillery
- The Carriers completely swarm the enemy and can create ion storms, they are well worth the price
- The Dropship can fly over obsticles like mountains and then deploy, while MCVs have to slowly drive to an area on the ground

The Dropship can fly over obsticles like mountains and then deploy, while MCVs have to slowly drive to an area on the ground I know folks can't see the ini files from C&C 3 (right?). But what is exactly the damage from the Stormrider? I mean how much better is it than the Venom? I've seen them do much damage to tanks but Stormriders aren't so effective against structures.

Venoms are just utterly useless against structures and vehicles unless massed (REALLY MASSED) and their damage towards aircrafts are, as far as I have observed, less then satisfactory when compared to the Stormriders. The only things in which they are better then the Stormriders are that they don't require an airfield slot and can stay stationary without having to circle around. |

Hey everyone,
Just something to add to this forum.
I only just got the game and played it in one session but my friend beat me using a scorp rush build.
Along the lines of: crane, PP, ref, emessary (build refinary at another orefield), war factory, more refs and factories and then rush (while building more tanks), rush again... etc
any GDI tactic that could hammer this? Even if it is a predator rush, could someone give me a build?

There is no counter. He will always win. Hope for a better balanced game from the 1.05 patch ;)
Actually, there might be a counter - I just don't know what it is. |

I've heard stories of Scorp rushes being fought off with loads of rocket infantry mixed in with a couple tanks, but the problem is that the counter require micromanagement and advance knowledge of the rush (leaving the player open to the dreaded Shadow Team rush) whereas the Scorp rush requires a pulse and a couple mouse clicks on the vehicle tab. |
