I would like to replace the Crusader Tank with the Abrams tank from Global Crisis mod.

1. What file do I need to edit to replace the Crusader with the Abrams?

2. What codes do I put in?

3. I i place the 0AGCv1.0.big in the Zero Hour folder (of an unmodded Zero Hour game) after editing the necessary file, will the game know to grab the Abrams textures and model from there?

Thanks

1. About 6 different ones

2. A new command button, command set, weapon sets, armour sets, the actual object, textures, and more.

3. That entirely depends what's in that big file.

What is your experience with modding?
If you're new I'd advise you not try this until you're comfortable writing ini code.

I can comfortably mod Red Alert 2 almost entirely.

I have modded a few other games.

I don't know how to 3D model though.

I don't know how similar ra2 and ah are for nodding. And as long as the models and textures already exist you shouldn't have to edit them.

RA2 uses .ini files too.

So how do I replace the Crusader using the .ini files etc.

Rollercoaster tycoon uses ini files. Not all ini coding is the same. After nodding zh for ages I thought I'd try other games but each one that uses ini files uses them differently.
Assuming RA and ZH ini coding is the same you shouldn't have to much difficulty.

1. Add the object (create a blank ini in data/ini/object and copy your replacement tank's object code there (it doesn't matter what you call the file))
2. Create a command button in commandbutton.ini
3. Add the command button in commandset.in I
4. Add any special armour and/or weapons to their respective ini files.
thanks 1 user thanked klingondragon for this useful post.

I'm just basing my answer on your comment. "If you're new I'd advise you not try this until you're comfortable writing ini code."

Btw only 4 steps? missing a lot of details there.

But I'll see what I can do with this.

You said you were comfortable with RA so I assumed you'd be able to work it out. If given the original files for this tank I could probably finish the mod in about half an hour.

I'm comfortable with .ini files cause I've done it before but doesn't mean I know how to mod Generals. You said it yourself, now all ini files are the same.

Anyways here's the link to the .big (I don't know what other files you would need):
