Hello everyone After all these years I still regularly play Zero Hour online and I always play as China, currently Tank General. I can handle any USA ok(except turtling, Alpha Bomber SW noobs)and China, but GLA always give me trouble. I'd say that I lose to GLA 9/10 times. The one thing that I think makes GLA overpowered is the tunnels - they always get total map control very early. I awlays build Gat Tanks to begin with and send them out to search for workers but it's always too late. Then I just get flanked by mass Scorp Tanks, that's if I manage to survive the Technical rush. Any general stategies and tips to defeat GLA(especially Tox, as that is what 99% of GLA players use) would be much appreciated.

Sooooo, I'm stil losing to GLA 99% of the time. Lately it's been players that just turtle up with 1000 tunnels and stinger sites and build 10 scud storms.
Seriously, I've played a lot of RTS games and GLA is without a doubt the most overpowered, unbalanced team I've ever seen. Cheap, fast, able to instantly teleport across the map, super cheesey units (scud, demo truck, terrorist, hijacker etc).

China is underpowered. From early game to late game they are weaker than the other factions. Early game, China isn't very versatile. Late game, hackers are weak alone, or cost ineffective in an internet center, and take a long time to build. Edited by user Sunday, August 21, 2011 10:17:11 PM(UTC)

Could be something you haven't considered. I've not played many online games, but based on your description of what happens, here's a suggestion.
Try taking a few inferno cannons with black napalm upgrades. If you can get I think 4+ to hit the tunnel all at once, they won't be able to deploy the units from it without being burned instantly to a crisp. Obviously they can from another nearby, but at least they can't stream out in-front of you. Anyway, give it a go, it may help a little (99% to 95% :) )

Even though I am a GLA fan, I still think it is not so OVERPOWERED, but yeah it is really awesome team to play with... Having tunnels everywhere... But look... Its unit are weakly armored. It doesn't have any AF (biggest disadvantage). I think one has to be speedy to beat GLA... But I can't REALLY say how to do it... |

If its online, strike first, which is hard for US and China because you have to build the power supply, but if your smart, you can build barracks first. About 3. train 9 units(technically its 18 for the x2 factor) in each barracks, then send them out real quick, and if you don't get rid of them the first time you've at least set them back long enough to build up a bigger army and base. |

Firstly remember gamers pick GLA because their unable to use Tank happy China or the Air and Ground combat of The USA! The last resort happening right there!
They mainly have 3 deadly attacks? 1) An abundance of Very light ground units... 2) Bunker- Super's. 3) Is there main area of concern! Over building-up on the map! its crucial to keep the map under control... Clear your side of any enemy structures with constant patrols and air support.. without that foot hold on the map! it really is one paper mache army.
Prepare for a long haul,(if not a 77% imminent land rush)
Fully upgraded Paladins on 'Hold the Line' will tear through anything they can muster! just be Chemical ready.... |

Untrue People pick gla because they can use their abilities to full effect E.g. using rebel ambush as demolition gen and instantly blowing them up Or sending a technical full of terrorists into the opponents base after 30 seconds of playing Building tunnel networks all over the map and spawning units everywhere and anywhere to cause devestation all over the place No power so spamming you with lots of SWs Anthrax bomb on airfields causing all planes to die Stealthed base defences so you cant knock them out with planes unless they're being attacked by the stinger site I could go on |

So we've established GLA own in Zero. Can we focus on this Balance Issue? and merit Armies accordingly... Merit' being what success is ALL about! The Style. The Glory, The Victory Flight over Cheering crowds! A CLS63 AMG is a super example of what Merit is really about! And a Banana Create with roller skate wheels attached to it? isn't! lol The balances being 1). One Army is brilliantly presented in a uniformed and well polished metallic look, with a super friendly Anglo American construction dozer dude. ( High in merits!) 2). The second Army has a worn and somewhat hastily put together look, where the workers generally relay Optimistic views?. ( Low in merit?) Optimists die hardest! 3). And the third being adapt Tractors?, Trucks? and Buses! where their worker respond with rudeness and even ''Ouch!'' (Merit?) I figure GLA player hit their mouse buttons 500% more times than other armies! Must be terribly exhausting...  Don't give up with Raptors on them battle buses you may need more according to your rank (both current game and online player status)! I cant comment on Zero Hour china? All out Generals compensation going on with that Army! bit too weak for such a massive assortment! Also could you try and keep your comments on topic and not just counter mine  Thanks |

China is a tiny bit weak, especially early in the game. Facing a Chinese army as a Chinese general like Fai vs Fai, even using my new, crazy-powerful units, they're HARD! |
