Hey there,
i am new to this forum an signed in because of a problem i have.
Two Friends and me have bought this game over Origin a few Weeks ago. C&C "The Ultimate Collection"
We played C&C RA3 (german version) 1.12 And all is fine. So now we wanted more Maps.
We followed the hints from the Internet. - Download the Maps - Look for the Folder to place in (Win7) appData/roaming/Ra3 usw.. - There was no Folder "Maps" so we made them there. - Inserted the Maps and tried. But nothing - Checked the writing for Folders and Maps. Same Writing - Packed them into the RA3 Folder without Maps, packed them into the Maps Folder without another Folder. But also nothing.
Questions: - Can it be that Origin has changed something? - Can it be that the Maps dont work with "The Ultimate Collection" - Even if we try to go to an opened Internetgame from another Player with a Map we dont have. The Game says "You dont have this map, but will get it when the host starts". Then our Games hang up wenn the Host start the game.
Please, we are very bored at the Moment and realy want more Maps. Can someone help us?
Greetz and thanks for your time

I found someone else having this problem here: cant play custom maps RA3 & C&C 3 + KWAnd I found a potential solution here: Custom maps not showing up in CNC3 Kane's WrathThe above post talks about Kane's Wrath, but the same idea should apply to RA3. Summary:This may be caused by a missing registry entry for Red Alert 3 when installed via C&C The Ultimate Collection. To fix:Note: these fixes assume you are using a 64-bit version of Windows 7. Option 1: Import Registry Fix- Download the CNCUltimateCollectionCustomMapRegistryFix.zip file attached to this post (see below).
- Open the compressed folder, and execute the CNCUltimateCollectionCustomMapRegistryFix.reg file contained within. This will import the missing entries into your Windows Registry.
- Note: this method should have the same effect as the manual method below.
Option 2: Manually Fix RegistryUse the Windows Registry Editor to add the missing key. - Type "regedit" into the search box in the start menu, and hit enter.
- Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\
- Then, below, navigate to each key for each game ("Command and Conquer 3", "Red Alert 3", "Red Alert Uprising").
- Under each of the games, an entry named "UseLocalUserMaps" of type "REG_DWORD" with value "0" should be present.
- If UseLocalUserMaps is not present, create it by selecting the following menu option: Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) value. Name the new entry "UseLocalUserMaps" and hit enter or click something else to save it.
- Repeat the above step for each of the games under the "Electronic Arts" key.
Hope that helps - let us know if it works! Source of CNCUltimateCollectionCustomerMapRegistryFix.reg: Code:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

I joined the forums due to your longevity with the game series, I have casually played for many many years and recently purchased the Ultimate Collection through Origin. I have ALWAYS used your maps and I really like RA3 so I decided to download more maps, especially nautical maps. Herein lies the problem....I am on Windows 8, I cannot figure out which directory to put them in. Please advise! I have looked online extensively to no avail so any advice would be appreciated I do realize that maybe for now I can't use downloaded maps.
Thanks!

RE: Command and Conquer The Ultimate Collection (MAPS) OS: Windows 8, 64-bit I cannot use custom maps with any of the C&C games... I love the C&C collection, but always played the custom maps. Kinda amazed Origin missed this or didn't just add 50 maps to the games and save us all this gnashing of teeth. General Kluster

I use Vista 32-bit, and this did not work even though you said Windows 7. Any way to solve my problem? I use the same directory

Absolutely BRILLIANT!
Worked like a charm for me! Using Win7 Ultimate 64bit and newly installed CnC Ultimate Collection from Origin.
The registry fix worked ... that was the last thing I tried and BOOM! Worked like a charm on CnC RA 3 ... still have not testing CnC RA 3 Uprising yet ... but it's good to win!!!
Thanks for the working info on this one!!!

Brother, you're awesome , this solution worked for me in 2021 with Origin RA3 and uprising. thanks a lot. Now, I can play custom maps on RA3 Uprising. Simply put your custom map folder in C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Red Alert 3\. (if Maps folder not available then make one), inside that put map folder (folder that contains single map only) Originally Posted by: MicScoTho I found someone else having this problem here: cant play custom maps RA3 & C&C 3 + KWAnd I found a potential solution here: Custom maps not showing up in CNC3 Kane's WrathThe above post talks about Kane's Wrath, but the same idea should apply to RA3.
