I have been looking at the posts on making a map size and the posts have not been helpful. Can someone please explain how to make the map bigger in the simplest of terms.

Under File/Resize Map you can change the map size but you also need to adjust the active border (orange band) to match the map boundary line. See if this section in the Reviewer Guidelines helps explain things. Let us know if you have questions.

I made a new map 150x150 border: 30.
But I finished the map, went on skimish, noticed that the Command center circles were outside the map preview rectangle and noticed that my command center is missing.

I then reviewed the the map, turned on the "Show Impassable Areas" and I saw parts of my map were outside the blue squares (Outside the boundaries, I tried resizing it but the water and the land became separate areas. The objects and waypoints moved with the land section but the polygons defining the base areas moved with the water.

Yes, you are correct in your observance. Areas are never anchored to the land and may need to be repositioned after resizing. We've all had to do it.

Why can't I just drag the map boundary under 0?

Sorry, I don't follow your question. The map boundary line is the blue band that represents the total map size, i.e. 150 by 150 in your case. Borders can be positioned upward and to the right but are always anchored to the lower-left corner of the map. If you need to "Add Map" to the left side of your map, be sure to select the right anchor square when adjusting the map size. This will add any increase to the left side.

I meant the "Active Border"(orange), I can't stretch the bottom-leftmost point any further.

Correct. In my post above I mentioned that the Active Border is anchored to the map boundary in the lower left corner. I also said that if you need to add map to the left side (or bottom) you would use the opposite anchor square when resizing. So let's for example say you want the playable part of the map moved to the left another 20. Go to Resize map and select the right anchor square then add 20 to the width of your map. Then resize again using the left anchor square and subtract 20 from the width. You will see that the whole map has now moved over by 20 to the left bringing the active border with it as it is attached to that lower-left corner.

That only moves objects, not the terrain. Good idea though. And the polygons(base perimeters) still won't move!
Sad Banghead Why did I make that crucial mistake?!

No. When resizing the map with the anchor squares you are changing where the map boundary is placed on the map. Got a busy day but will look at your map at some point today.
---
Edit: OK this was simple enough. You had made your map extending into the border area. As you had the border for the map set at 30 feet and the map sized at 150 X 150, I just added 60 (border on both sides)to the height and width of the map.

I adjusted the Active Border to match the new map boundary line and repositioned the base areas. I Also adjusted the water area to the new map size. Let me know if this is OK or you had something else in mind.

Uhh...

Why don't the AI work, why couldn't I cross the bridges and why are the bridges longer than expected on radar?
