Yes, Things Are Slow
Posted by Blbpawsat 2:15 AM
You might notice that we haven't had a news update in quite a while. In fact, very little has been happening in the community as of late, as we're in one of those lull periods after the release of a game. Here are a couple things of note, though:
- Project Perfect Mod has a new version of their Tiberium Essence mod for C&C 3.
- Since EA has essentially abandoned the pack, the C&C community has released an unofficial 1.03 patch for the C&C: The First Decade compilation.
- An RA3 demo is available.
In addition, we've been hard at work here at Generals World and C&C Labs. We're making good progress on all our in house projects, and we're getting close to debuting something relatively soon. Stick around!

GameRanger Launches, Supporting Generals, C&C 3
Posted by Mikeat 11:07 PM
The online gaming network GameRanger, which has supported Mac games since 1999, has just expanded its support to the PC. The service currently supports 521 PC games, including C&C Generals, Zero Hour, C&C 3 Tiberium Wars, and Kane's Wrath.
According to founder Scott Kevill, GameRanger aims to make it quick and easy to play your friends online -- even if they are behind a router or firewall.
If you're sick of the Generals or C&C 3 Online user interface, or if you tend to have problems connecting to other players, it may be worthwhile to give GameRanger a try. If you do, let us know what you think.
GameRanger plans to add support for Red Alert 3 in the future.
Edit: Support for Red Alert 3 has now been added!

Mike Verdu Hints at Next C&C Game
Posted by Blbpawsat 3:25 PM
In a DVD included with Red Alert 3 Premier Edition, Mike Verdu hints at the next C&C game, saying that we'll "hear more in early 2009." The other fansites that I've read are all speculating that it's another Generals game. I absolutely disagree. I think it's an expansion to Red Alert 3. I think Generals is dead and done; EA would do as well pursuing a new intellectual property than the one attempting to retrofit a story onto Generals to create a sequel. Take it for what it's worth.
