CNC Series Back Online!
Posted by Mikeat 7:59 PM
Kudos go to Ash for all of his work to get the site back up and running!
Community News
Posted by Mikeat 2:29 PM
I'm now back from a series of vacations that I was on over the past two weeks. I'm feeling motivated, so here's the latest news from around the Command & Conquer Community!
- C&C Kings, a Generals Total-Conversion mod, has released three new screenshots detailing three new medieval structures. If you're interested in medieval warfare, this is a must see.
- C&C Holland has announced that it will be releasing the mod's first public beta this Friday, July 30th. This mod, for Zero Hour, adds the Dutch army has a new faction in Zero Hour.
- The (original) Generals mod Half Hour is now available for downloading through their website.
- The official website for the First Tiberian War mod is now online with some nice renders to check out!
And on a more sour note, CNC Matrix has announced that it will now be closing. Here's a clip from the message as posted by Malc:
I have been putting off this day for a number of months now, knows who have known me for more then a few months will know ive always been a optimist when it comes to the C&C community. Ive always looked for the good out of the bad ive always tried to encourage others todo the same and not loose hope. Ive always worked on the basis that those who survive the hard times will triumph is the good.
But the bad times have been around for way over a year now with no sign of the good times. Im now into my fourth year as part of the C&C community and I have seen many great sites come and go. Now its CnCMatrix's turn to close.
CNC Matrix has been an important part of the C&C Community ever since it opened in 2002. It's sad to see sites go, but most do in due time. I bid Malc and the rest of the CNC Matrix staff a fond farewell - best of luck in all your future endeavors.

All Stars Screenshot (Quit Whining)
Posted by CommieDogat 5:25 AM
Due to lack up updates of our progress on CnC: All Stars (and incessant nagging from one person), I added another screenshot to our collection. Here it is, in all its glory:
It's the Tiberian Hover MRLS. The model was made by Slick_mk1 and the skin was done by Warnwar2003. As you can see the hover capability enables it to hover right over water as demonstrated in this picture. You can see this screen by heading to our screenshots page. We've got more to come so stick around!

News because I have time.

Call To Arms has new intersting stuff posted up. Check it out.
CNCDEN has posted a new mod. It's called 'Generals: Half Hour':
Please note, this is NOT for Zero Hour. JooG created a nice little mod for Generals called Half Hour Mod. This is not a full blown total conversion mod. It does however give ya some different units to play around with. For example: USA gets Double Barreled Paladin Tank, O.M.E.G.A. Blast. China gets Iron Dragon Jet and Cluster Tank. GLA gets Quad Tank and Supply Truck. In addition to some new units, this mod also adds new special weapons, some new upgrades and some new sounds. JooG did borrow some other peeps models and cameos to create his mod, and he DOES give proper credit in the included readme file.
Intell Studios has posted up some screenshots of their Total Conversion ZH mod, The First Tiberian War.
King's Community Article is gaining a little attention, but brings up very few valid points. Sorry King, but the connections are weak. In anycase, this article will be worth the read if you want to read Smurf Bizkit's rebuttle and the Blitzkreig 2 status report.
Well, thats it for now!

3,500,000
Posted by Blbpawsat 7:48 PM
Just recently Generals World passed the 3,500,000 hit line. I'd like to thank all of you out there who visit the site, and post in the forums, and beta test the mods, and vote in the polls.
On a serious note, since this is my first "acceptance speech," I'd like to thank all our staff, here starting from MicScoTho and going down.
The staff at Generals World (except for perhaps myself) work incredibly hard to keep the site running and up to date and I don't think that MicScoTho, Luckie, aConcernedCitizen (known as aCC in the staff forums) and the others get nearly enough recognition. So for what it's worth, I'd like to say thanks to them.
We can all remember the time last winter when the site was dying. And we can all remember when MicScoTho was extremely busy and had little or no time to update the site. And we can all remember how at that Luckie was basically the webmaster and that (gasp) I was second it command. We can all remember the fans who pulled us through and the site's return to normalcy.
GeneralsWorld launched on March 15th 2002, one week after the annoucement of Generals. I think we've come a long way since then when in the first 4 months we had only 70000 hits. And the best thing about you guys, the fans, is that you keep coming back.
GeneralsWorld is a fansite. Which, technically, means it's run by fans of Generals and Zero Hour. While that definatly is true, I prefer to think of a different defination; Generals World is supported by it's fans, you guys. And without you, there would be no site.
Like most CNC sites GW has a future. Our future will be something great. While I can't say anything about it now I can say that "I see the future....I see a Tiberium future...."

Happy Independence Day
Posted by Mikeat 1:38 PM
I'm sure many of you will be spending some time with the family or some friends today, having a barbeque and catching some fireworks. I, for one, will be headed up to my grandparents' house for our annual July 4th cookout.
If you're up for some online celebration or a patriotic tune, check out this website here. And be sure to take some time to remember the Declaration of Independence and this great nation's founders! Stand proud and true for the red white and blue!
Have a safe and happy Forth of July everyone!
