Hi all, I'm a new user around here, I just signed up. I see you have plenty of threads here, the latest ones about your new mod for CnC3, The Forgotten. I'm not into modding that much, since I see it's a bit complicated, I prefer making maps and when I'll have some decent ones I may even show you them.
BUT... there is actually one thing involving modding that interests me, that is changing the game music. Another mod that I have implemented in the game has music tracks from other CnC episodes, indicating that changing sound files (music as well) is possible. The question is: how am I supposed to do? All I know from the bottom of my very low knowledge is that informations about audio tracks in the game are stored in .big files (correct me if i'm wrong) but when I used the BIG Editor (I have FinalBig too - better have both of 'em than none IMO) all I could see was either an endless set of mixed letters and special symbols or a scheme with hexadecimal coding. You will understand from what I'm saying that it appears difficult to recognize and even edit sound files with something like that, however I still want to know how to make it. I have been trying to use SDK but still can't figure out how should I name my custom tracks, nor where should I put them. But since your Forgotten mod features also new audio tracks as well as some other mods I've seen around (already told you BTW), I'm not giving up.
Last question: could the same method be valid for changing music in Kane's Wrath too? Because I play both that and Tiberium Wars. KW because of its large number of factions, TW because of the good amount of mods I've downloaded so far (the latest of which is your newly developed Forgotten mod of course).
That's all. I hope not to have started a thread in the wrong section, and many thanks go to anyone that will try to help me. Waiting to see your replies.
