It clearly needs the Insignia where the wierd square blue blob is! Please, can you help me fix it by telling me where the texture for it is. I have already got the correct textures:
; *** ART Parameters *** SelectPortrait = SAComCentr_L ButtonImage = SAComCentr
<- Got them!!

Umm... Coding ain't exactly my field, but isn't that snippet for the commandbar buttons?

What krit said. You've quoted the code for the image that will display in the bottom right when you click it. That has nothing to do with the texture on the command centre.

Please tell me where I can locate the correct texture file for the Command Center then. Thank you. **EDIT** Come on people, you can clearly see what's wrong with the textures from the uploaded screenshot, how the hell do I fix it? It should have the AirForceGenerals little insignia on it...

Okay okay. I got the quote wrong from the FactionBuilding art params, I was tired. But please really the missing texture is driving me insane!![unamused] I have made some progress with it but I think it is in layers or something. I went through the TexturesZH.big and found a few pictures that add to the airgen insignia on the commandcenter but there is one more left and I can't find it:ashamed: . I have no idea how or where in the text files the game is pointing towards the required textures, just that somehow the model knows it needs them... (so I have no guide. I can't read a text file, find the needed texture and then look for it specifically![-1] [disappointed] [angry] Below is a .JPG image of the commandcenter as it is now. PLEASE HELP ME! If you converted the texture file from DDS to TGA, that's where the problems at. From what I'm seeing, either the model does not have the alpha channels set correctly or the alpha layer in the image is missing...

I don't think the problem is with file format. Almost every single (if not all) of the textures in TexturesZH.big are .DDS files. I have uploaded four screenshots to help demonstrate this fact. These were all taken at random parts through the .big file.

Is there any way I can know what the missing texture files are so I can find them. As you can see it's a very long list of files. Thanks [smile]

It's showing, so it's not missing, there's just something wrong with the alpha channeling either in the model file or the texture file.

If it's either of the two i'd put my money on the model then. The texture file I can assure you is unchanged, perhaps there is something in the models INI code I edited out? **EDIT** I have just looked through all of the required models specified in the FactionBuilding.ini code of the AirGens commandcenter. There's nothing there that I havn't moved from ZH into generals, so the models aren't the problem. If it is this "Alpha channel" problem with the textures, how would I fix it? And why would this problem exist in the first place? All of the same files used in ZH show the image correctly ingame and in the worldbuilder, but in Generals it looks all messed...[sad] That's why I still have a hunch I might have missed a file, some form of texture that "layers" into the others, masking the horrible black to an extent that it only outlines the blue raptor picture, giving it the correct appearence. This structure is the most peculiar. Whilst all the others that didn't have the textures on there .w3d files (looked white in the preview) had textures with the same filename as the model filenames, so I just went to TexturesZH, found them and pasted them to the proper directory[smile] . Why does the commandcenter have to be so difficult, can't it just look like this?

Negative, alpha channels are set within the model file itself and not the INIs.

When did this turn into a .w3d problem? It's EXACTLY the same as the .w3d file in ZH. This makes on sense at all.

Well. Either way there's gotta be a logical explanation for the textures messing up. Nothing in the INI's about where the texture comes from. So it's gotta be the alhpa channel, or even somehow I missing texture. Is there no one on the forum who knows about this kinda stuff? I havn't got a clue what's wrong anymore, only that it looks wierd and it's really really annoying ingame.

There's no need to furiously bump your topics. You're not really competing with anything else in here.

Sorry. No more "bumping", just edits. **EDIT** Really. If this isn't fixed by the end of the day this message was posted then I will just leave it. Please, I havn't got a clue how to fix this texture stuff. Leaving out units is one thing but having the commandcenter look messed is just wrong and really off-setting when playing ingame. A big black square where the cool little symbol should be[unamused]

The only thing I can think of (which was never discussed above) is that you edited some of the texture files in some way when trying to port them.

Posted by: Sky Demon - Friday, July 17, 2009 1:38:48 PM
Sorry to be so negative. I didn't change any file formats, merely exported them to their respective directories and then found the text file that specified where it was and filled in the stuff for it. The art params for the commandcenter are even the same as they are in ZH. There seems no way to fix it. Thanks anyway. Close topic.
