Is it possible to make a plane land, then drop off unmanned units, then fly off?

No, there is no script controlling the elevation of aircraft.

In the ZH missions, there are cinematic sequence with planes taking off (GLA 1 & 4) and landing, at least the plane being on the ground and units driving away from it (USA 4). My best bet would be either a cinematic approach (camera on flying plane, then focus cam on the ground, remove flying plane, replace by plane rolling on the ground, CINE_Cargoplane_high/med/low) or using the disable option, which will make the flying plane hit the ground immediately and stay immobile (quite unelegant). After that, spawn units at a waypoint near the plane and immediately empty them... :x
