I'm making a Tank Wars maps for Generals. (Not Zero Hour)(Very similar to Tank Wars v1-16 I've uploaded for Zero Hour) I'm trying to create a Map.ini file that will allow the player to build only tanks. The file isn't finished yet but I'm having problems with some command button images. For each of the 3 factions, I want the Paladin, Marauder, & Overlord Tanks to be but in the Generals promotions menu. But the images don't show up in the command buttons.Image Insert: 51.6 KB I had to create a new button for the Overlord tank, I guess that one isn't to important, but what's going on with the Marauder tank? Also, when you move the mouse over the Overlord tank command button in the War Factory, the game just freezes! I assume because the prerequisite for the overlord science is screwed up in the discription. If you want to try this out for yourself, I recommend you paste a shortcut for Generals & in the Target text field of its properties, add "-win" to the end of the text outside the quotation marks. This will open up the game in windowed form. Could you check out the INI file for me to see what I'm doing wrong? The stuff you might want to look at is at the top of the INI file & near the bottom. Boo-hoo, no replies. [disappointed] Anyone got any ideas for compromises? I would like at lease the Paladin & Marauder on all 3 factions.

I don't know much on the subject. So i don't think i should post,But hey, at least it's a post for you to reply to...[smile] Maybe it isn't working because your'e adding a new object to a structure's build list but making it disabled(Can see it but cannot order it) then trying to "activate" it by adding a command button to the Science order list. The images could have something to do with it...(i'm just spreading ideas here) but it might not be linked correctly?

Well thank for trying to help me out, but I've basically looked through every nook & cranny in the INI files looking for stuff you mentioned & other things. Any deactivatable stuff I'm sure is activated. I guess I'll try bringing this question to other forum sites & see if the members their can help. I'll reply back if I can get it working.

I've nerrowed down the problem about the game freezing. I found out that modifying the prerequisites of any unit, does this! So if you remove the prerequisite of the strategy center for, lets say, Colonel Burton, the moment you'd move the mouse over the command button, the game will freeze! This deosn't occer when you take out all the prerequisites for a unit though. Anyone know of another INI file I need to use? Or is this something that just can't be modified in INI editing? I don't really care about the button images anymore.

Yeah but what if you remove the actual icon/button of the colonel burton in INI editing? I would have imagined that it can't freeze as there is nothing there anymore for your'e cursor to select? And does replacing a Prerequisite crash it? Because soon i will be starting on a personel campaighn level cheat for USA missions. I want to replace the AmericaAirField with the AirF_AmericaAirField. So i get his kick ass aircraft[sunglasses]. Would this crash the game or cause any problems?

I've found that, if you have any prerequisites (even the original prerequisite) in a Map.ini file, then the game will freeze if you check the prerequisite text in the discription. But I think it works fine for Zero Hour.
