Im wondering if i can add a totally new unit, not a modified one. I got a copy of Zero Hour Raptor from a friend of mine, tested it and it was pretty cool. There's some new units/buildings added for all side. I didn install the ZH Raptor, i just copy paste to another folder and it runs well, so i can launch the original ZH at any time without any problem. My current version of ZH is 1.0 (i see in "option" menu), and i wish to have some of those nice vehicles from Raptor mod, available in ZH 1.0. Let say i wanna add the China UberTank from raptor mod to ZH 1.0, so what do i have to do? Where's the unit's files located? what file do i have to copy n paste? i wanna add the UberTank to NukeChina General, so plz some1 guide me. p/s: sorry my poor english i hope you guys understand what i'm saying, im from asia tho

Is your copy of the game legit/bought? If so, update it to version 1.04, it would help most members of the forum here to avoid confusion. If you can't get the auto-update to work, download the patch and install it manually here: http://www.ea.com/official/cc/generals/us/demos.jsp Not to sound mean, but honestly, I don't want to reinstall the game just for your mod. My hard drive is almost full. I'll be glad to help you out once you have updated your game.

Can someone tell me what do i need in order to add a new unit? So far, from what i've learnt is (example for ChinaNuke side) 1. 3 W3D Files for the unit, (Good, average & junk condition)located at C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Art\W3D folder 2. 1 file of TGA or something like that for the unit to be placed at C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Art\Textures 3. CommandSet.ini - Add a new commandset line for the unit under certain side 4. CommandButton.ini - I guess to makes the unit's button available 5. ChinaAir.ini @ ChinaVehicle.ini - depends what kind of unit I have ZH Raptor Mod, so i extract W3D files (from Raptor's INIZH.ini) for example, lets say the China MiG Jet, its W3D files is called "NVMIGN" am i right? I just assuming so since it stated in NukeGeneral ini file..
Object Nuke_ChinaJetMIG ; *** ART Parameters *** SelectPortrait = SNMig_L ButtonImage = SNMig UpgradeCameo1 = Upgrade_ChinaAircraftArmor UpgradeCameo2 = Upgrade_ChinaTacticalNukeMig ;UpgradeCameo3 = NONE ;UpgradeCameo4 = NONE ;UpgradeCameo5 = NONE Draw = W3DModelDraw ModuleTag_01 OkToChangeModelColor = Yes DefaultConditionState Model = NVMIGN HideSubObject = BurnerFX01 BurnerFX02 WeaponLaunchBone = PRIMARY WeaponA End
But when i search for the file in W3D or Textures folder, it is not there. Where is the file located? The only file sounds similiar is "nvmig31_chassis". I'm just thinking if i'd just copy W3D & textures files n put them into my ZH 1.04 folder, and then modify some ini files, i'll get the new unit available but it always ended up with an error. How's exactly to do this stuff?

Something is wrong. Either you're looking in the wrong place for W3D files (the model should be in W3DZH.big) or someone isn't putting models in the right place.

Use Final Big to extract from C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\W3DZH Then Import it into Gmax/Renx with W3D Importer to load it into there
"...Just put it in [MaxFolder]\Scripts\Startup folder. In Max itself, go to the menu Customize>Customize User Interface. Click the "Menu" tab. On the right, you should see +File, +Edit, +View etc. The Plus signs are rollouts, find the location amongst the menus you want the W3D Import command to go (I put it right next to "Import File" in the "File" menu). From the "Action" list on the left, find "CoolFile W3D Importer" and drag it to the location on the right where you want it in the menus."
Edit: the link works, but for some reason the forum is adding " br / " at the end of it
