I have started to modify the Yuri side a little bit. But there are some difficulties. This far I have succesfully given the Yuri side the ability to construct Allied Service Depots. But the name irritates me, how can I change it so it says "Yuri Service Depot" instead? Also some other name changes would be good: Changing the Yuri "Amphibious Transport" into "Hover Transport". Also changing the "Yuri Naval Yard" into "Yuri Submarine Pen". I tried changing the "YAYARD" into "YSUBMARINEPEN", but ingame it said "MISSING=".

I haven't modded YR much, but that sounds like it is looking for a string.
You might be able to find out how to add this into the game: ; Yuri service depot [YADEPT] UIName=Name:GADEPT Name=ZZZ Yuri Service Depot Image=GADEPT BuildCat=Tech Prerequisite=YAWEAP,YACNST Strength=1200 Armor=wood ;This building does not exist in our game. Use the grinder instead. It counts from game west ImmuneToPsionics=no ; defaults to yes for buildings, no for others Compare it to the other service depot's to see whats missing to make it buildable...

That's the one I activated for the Yuri side. And strangely enough it's identically to the Allied Service Depot. UIName=Name:GADEPT Image=GADEPT The "UIName" and "Image" are the same as for the Allied Service Depot. Which gives the "cameo" and "ingame name". Somehow I would have to edit the UIName, but how do I do that? I tried earlier to change it into "YADEPT" but that gave me a "MISSING="

Maybe if you copy from rulesmd and add this it will work: [BuildingTypes] 254=YADEPT
I tried earlier to change it into "YADEPT" but that gave me a "MISSING="
Which means it will not work.

This is a forum for Generals modding and mapping, so I'm afraid that I'll need to move this topic to the CnC Classics forum. I believe that you'll need to download a utility to edit the RA2MD.csf file (I recommend XCC Mixer). Then you need to define the string that YR says is missing.

Where is this "RA2MD.csf" file located? I can't find it in the RA2 folder. EDIT: Never mind. Found it in the langmd.mix But how do I "EDIT" the ra2md.csf? nothing happens when I duble click it.

XCC Mixer can help you in that regard as well (which is why I like it so much). If you open up XCC Mixer, click on the Launch menu in the menu bar, scroll down to the XCC String Table Editor option, and select the Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge option from the submenu, the program will automatically extract RA2MD.csf from the MIX files to the correct location (your RA2 directory) and open up a window where you can view and edit the CSF file.

First of all, when I go down to the manu on Launch, I can see the Red Alert YR, but it's not highlighted, which means I can't click it. Then if go to the "Find" section and manually find the csf file, the string program opens but crashers. Something like "XCC have encountered a problem and needs to close". This happens everytime I try it.

Well, you could always try a standalone CSF editor like the straightforwardly named CSF Editor.

That seems to be a Generals ONLY Editor. Every RA2 file I tried to modify ended up with an "Invalid" message.

Maybe there's something wrong with your RA2? Just seems like theres a pattern here...

Hmm, actually doubt it. The game itself runs smoothly. EDIT: Well then I might just stop the MOD, seems like it's impossible to get it working. EDIT: Thanks alot of the help (sarcastic) Anyways, would anyone want to make these small changes and maybe e-mail me the files? Like only rename the Hover Transport and Submarine Pen. Thanks. And if possible, add a new Repair Depot and name it Yuris Repair Depot, it can be a copy of the Allied Repair Depot.

But I don't think the error is in my computer, something else is wrong. Anyways, would need help with finding a code. You know the Yuri Prismtower Statue from the single player missions? I tried to make it buildable for Yuri's army. But in-game it doesn't appear at all. What are the real codes for the structure, how can I make it buildable?

Posted by: CommieDog - Thursday, February 8, 2007 2:47:26 PM
The name of the building in the code is [CAEAST02]. In order to have it buildable by Yuri, you'll need to change the TechLevel= value to an integer between 1 and 10; add the line Owner=British,French,Germans,Americans,Alliance,Russians,Confederation,Africans,Arabs,YuriCountry; and copy a Prerequisite= line from a Yuri structure that has the prerequisites you want to set for it.

Posted by: incia - Friday, February 9, 2007 11:05:24 AM
Is it possible to ADD that structure to the Yuri side? I had to delete the Psychik Tower in order to get it working.

Posted by: CommieDog - Friday, February 9, 2007 1:59:19 PM
Yes. There should be no reason why Yuri can't have more strctures.

Posted by: incia - Sunday, February 11, 2007 5:50:06 AM
What am I doing wrong then? Because I had all the normal codes for the Statue structure and it didn't show up in-game, but then when I deleted the Psychic Tower and then added the Statue for Yuri, then it showed up and worked in-game.

Posted by: CommieDog - Sunday, February 11, 2007 12:12:39 PM
I'd need to see your code in order to determine what is wrong with it.

Posted by: incia - Thursday, February 15, 2007 6:29:27 AM
But the only differences I did to the code was delete the Psychic Tower. So the Statue wouldn't work if I had the Psychic Tower, but when I deleted the Psychic Tower code then the Statue started to work.
