In RA2 I Think I remember soviets having spies, but in yuri only allies have spies which seems weird because each faction has it's own special character they can create when they infiltrate a tech lab. Allies have chrono commandos, sovs have chrono ivan, and yuri has spychic commandos (Mind control+C4.) My question is that did RA2 give soviets spies, or is it my imagination?

Allied is the only army that have ever had Spies in any of the Red Alert related games.

The Soviets in RA2 didn't have their own spies, but they could capture enemy spies with a Yuri unit and send them against the enemy. This gave them access to either Chrono Ivan (if they infiltrated an Allied Battle Lab) or Yuri Prime (not to be confused with the YR version, if they infiltrated a Soviet Batle Lab).

Allied Barracks + Infiltration of Allied Tech Center = Chrono Commando Soviet Barracks + Infiltration of Allied Tech Center = Chrono Ivan

Here's something I found interesting when looking around in rulesmd
;Psi-Commando ;anybody gets Yuri tech ;note, what you get is based on type of Tech Center, not country
I could've sworn that as the allies whenever I infaltrated the soviets tech center I'd get chrono commando. :S

YR is different than RA2 in this respect, because the Soviets have no way to obtain Spies short of capturing another side's base.

This is off topic but doesn't it seem like the soviets in RA2 (not Yuri) are a bit overpowered because they have supior tanks and mind control and the battlefortress and GGI isn't in the game yet? Allies really don't have any counters against apocs and yuri's when the strongest tank they have is grizzly tank/mirage tank.

Prism Tanks. On a 1 on 1 fight, a prism would lose to an apoc easy, but in groups, Prism Tanks would completely destroy them.
