I am so dead serious about this... Don't sign up, ask a question, and then never actually come back for any confirmation of the kind! It is extremely annoying! If you're going to post a thread, at least have the manners to bookmark it and come back with a 'Thank you' or 'Great! It worked' two days later.

I think this topic is wrong. Newcomers should not be expected to give thanks, it is nice for them to do, and I appreciate it, but it shouldn't be a requirement. There is no rule for this when they signed up, and I don't think that this should become a rule. Unless you just really want to become praised...
