Hey!
I have recently started to play around with the Flash.
And would like to creat platform games, like 2D.
For example: a Megaman or Metroid kind-of-a game.
But before I start to ask a bunch of questions, I will just simply ask if anyone here knows anything or the basics about Macromedia Flash?
PS: Don't give any links to tutorials because none of them will teach me the things I want to learn. I have search for tutorials for several weeks now and none of them helped me.

Flash isn't the best place to program games. You're better off learning C++ and using a 3rd party graphics engine. I don't feel like actionscript is a very useful language for programming games. If you want to make a game in flash, you'll have to learn actionscript from top to bottom. For that I can't help. I don't know much more about actionscript than how to create a preloader for an animation.s th

Well I have just recently played some internet flash games, and what I saw of them they seemed to be pretty nice games. Which I also believe was made in Flash.
Some tributes for Megaman and Metroid were also made in Flash, but unfortunately they never give away the sourche code.
However, I have this far been able to get a "character" to walk left and right, and also to jump and shoot. But still, it's a one-frame-long-game... Metroid and Megaman have very long levels like over 20 frames long and different hidden secret rooms. And that's what I would want to do also.
Btw, Luckie, does that rabbit say "I will eat your heart" or "I belive you're hard"???

If you're new to flash the [i]last[/i] thing you want to do is to start trying to make 2D Games.

I'm not quite new to Flash, and the only thing I want to do is 2D Games, lol.
