Hey just wondering when we can expect a update for the mod. Havent seeing any news since Jan. I know you guys had a little staff problem and was wondering if you guys feel like your still on par with a release date of 2 quater of 05?

Posted by: aConcernedCitizen17 - Friday, April 15, 2005 10:08:47 PM
Well, for all of you out there wondering what the heck is going on with AS, here's a short and to the point update (Anything more than that might be deleted by Blbpaws). We're still chugging along. Each day we make progress even if it's putting in a line of code, all the way to making a new Alpha version. We're definitely not dead, but have instead just gone mostly publicity silent. We've got some stuff planned and such, and with the Alpha continually progressing, we'll have plenty of new stuff going up. For a similar update you can visit our ModDB profile http://mods.moddb.com/3188/ where I just recently made an update post. As for the staff problem, that's long been resolved and we've not even thought on it since it happened. And as for the release date, We may be looking at a mid-summer beta, or release, but that's all dependent upon just how quick we can fix all the bugs, and get everything up to par. Anything further I leave to Blbpaws to announce. I hope that you all can rest easier tonight knowing your friendly neighborhood mod is far from dead and is cooking up even more literally even as I type this. All I can tell you in the way of future updates is that you can expect some changes. Possibly even ************************************************. (Edited by Blbpaws) So stick around!

Yeah, we're far from dead. The stuff we're churning out daily far surpasses what you can actually see. Infact, we're working on a way to throw a bone to the community. The funny thing is how much we've improved since our last update. I think you'll be blown away.

I know blbpaws is reading this even as I type it. How, I dont know but i dare to ask this question. How complete would you say the mod is?

Posted by: Blbpaws - Saturday, April 16, 2005 7:16:07 AM
Wait a sec, aCC. Let's stop portraying me as the evil one, shall we? I did not edit your post at all, and I thank you for making it. Now, for the release date. The official date is: When it's done. Unofficially, I'm starting to think that early second quarter is becoming less and less likely, so that it's probably going to be ready (a full release that is) sometime in the late second quarter/early third quarter. It's likely we'll have a beta much before then, though. Still, as I've (and the team) always maintained, we'll release it when it's done.
Wait a sec, aCC. Let's stop portraying me as the evil one, shall we?
But we need someone to contribute a fair abount of evil to this mod, Blbpaws. My plan to take over the world using the 'limited' FTP access won't be enough.

Dont get me wrong Im sure you guys are busy on it but tossing the masses some news like every month or so will calm our minds. I was concerned due to no news in awhile. Well continue the good work and keep us updated.

lol. rlgl, we're currently coming up with a detailed plan on a consistant way to release news.

Posted by: Blbpaws - Sunday, April 17, 2005 7:37:58 AM
News _and_ renders, of course.

I was a fool to ever doubt you guys :-)

Hey, I have been extremely busy recently with exams (GCSE's) so my support towards the mod has been limited; which is still more than everyone else [stuck_out_tongue] only joking, the team work their socks off for this project (or whatever you want to call it). It’s a superb team to be on and without the individual skills we wouldn't be anywhere near to what we are at with them! I must say (I don't mean to boast, well I actually do [wink]) but I consider our mod team to be small especially compares to other ZH mods yet I know that I am working with the best! I've seen something’s that have just taken my breath away and I'm sure that the wait for this mod will be completely worth it. I have no doubts that on completion this mod will go down history! Hell I even think people will buy Generals just to play AS. As I've said before I have been extremely busy recently with exams but most of the work finishes within the next few weeks and my final exam is in 2 months, I should resume my work pretty soon, so with the rest of the team still in work I think we should have some new renders/info updates soon. AS Staff: if I've said too much I don't care if you edit this post in anyway (other than to make me look evil [wink])

Posted by: Luckie - Sunday, April 17, 2005 4:45:16 PM
Normally, I'd say: Buy a game to play a mod? Pfsh. However, in this case, I think we're on to something. Just remember rlgl, we're bringing the past alive! (Cheesy line, but seriously, lol).

Posted by: Blbpaws - Monday, April 18, 2005 2:58:18 AM
We'll see. I don't like to get caught up in how great we are, and what fans will do, and all that. I prefer to just keep doing our best work and moving foward. So far, it's worked. Still, I would hope we are one of the better mods out there, and since, for almost everyone on the team (except Commie and Warnwar I believe), this is their first or second mod, I'm proud to lead the project and I'll be proud of what we accomplish. Of course, though, there's no better group of guys to work with.

[selfpraise]And thats without mentioning the kickass AI we are gonna have![/selfpraise] Only time will tell so be patient!

Posted by: Luckie - Monday, April 18, 2005 6:49:19 AM
For the record, his AI can already kick my lilly livered butt.

Posted by: GENERALBOB - Monday, April 18, 2005 10:22:24 AM
what does lilly livered mean

Posted by: Lion - Monday, April 18, 2005 12:18:10 PM
I dont know either, but it sounds good! considering i consist of pretty much half of the experienced AI coders left in the ZH world, it should be decent! OOOOHHH and the goodies coming out the next few weeks! Wouldnt you fans want to know! [grin]

So you are working on the mod as well Lion? That's cool. Can't wait for the news.

Yay, a news update. Nice renders on the structures.
so do you need any help with the mod? i can do some modleing little skining but im jest learning to script but if u need help or a beta tester msnm me at leprconzero@msn.com
I'll contact you by MSN, but, in general, we're always looking for talented people to help. I'm going to hold off on Beta testers now, since we're not quite at Beta stage yet, but if you want to become a modeller with us, you can certainly apply. I will contact you on MSN with further details, but you for starters you need to show a sample of your work. I agree that the Nod Mobile Repair Vehicle you did for the other mod is well done, and so, if you don't have anything else, that will probably suffice (it's actually one of our remaining un-done models as well). In sum, yes, we could always use talent, and we will consider you.

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Sunday, October 9, 2005 6:38:42 PM
well i do some modleing in gmax/renx but mostly in 3ds becouse i like to use .3ds and when our hp is back up ill post some more pics

Whoa, poly count overload!

Posted by: Vyron - Sunday, October 9, 2005 10:44:13 PM
On an unrelated note, your Windows looks very good. What theme are you using?

Posted by: krit - Monday, October 10, 2005 12:51:44 AM
That's a Battlefeild level model not a Generals one!

Posted by: Jaytius - Monday, October 10, 2005 8:37:15 AM
Heh, there is way too much unessesary detail for Generals in that model! Vyron thats a default Longhorn styled skin, I see a lot on Wincustomize.com but you need Windowblinds to use them, though do a search for StyleXP thats a free easier program that you can use to change the skins of Windows.

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Monday, October 10, 2005 1:24:45 PM
its not a bf2 modle i dont make stuff for bf2 only renagade and Operation flashpoint the panzers poly count is 71265 [and it was for a contest] and my themes are from longhorn transmation pack 10. get the 10.5 here http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Longhorn_Transformation_Pack/1104164392/1

in game of the panzer

Posted by: Blbpaws - Monday, October 10, 2005 4:20:18 PM
Yeah, I think by BF2 model, they meant that it had a lot of polys, far too many for an RTS game such as Generals. If you do model for us, your poly counts will have to be much lower, since we are modding Zero Hour, not Renegade. Those screens do look good though.

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Monday, October 10, 2005 5:21:02 PM
Would you like me to make a unit? jest tell me whitch one and the max polys

Posted by: Blbpaws - Monday, October 10, 2005 7:54:23 PM
Nod Mobile Repair Vehicle, and 700. Sound reasonable?

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Tuesday, October 11, 2005 2:11:18 AM
Can do :) and ill try to skin it but what is the max tex size zh can handle ie 512x512

Posted by: Blbpaws - Tuesday, October 11, 2005 3:57:45 AM
That should be fine.

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Tuesday, October 11, 2005 4:50:49 AM

Pretty good, but be sure to add objects for the part of the model that takes the team's color.

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Tuesday, October 11, 2005 8:28:18 PM
the tops of the whell whells and the sides of the "pop"on the top of the chassie :)

Nice, how many polies is it? Also the extra polies for these shapes are unessesary as they won't be seen in game:

>_< f*** its 812 well i gess i cut alot of poys out =/

Posted by: Firion Corodix - Wednesday, October 12, 2005 9:34:34 PM
i think it doesnt really matter that it´s 812. it´s very close to 700 and we got more models over 700...

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Wednesday, October 12, 2005 11:55:32 PM
well msnm me for it =)

Alright, thanks for submitting that, Paradox. We'll talk it over as a team, and I'll get back to you on MSN. Regardless, you do have some clear modelling talents.

Paradox, do you skin as well? For example did you skin that Panzer tank you showed on the other page of this topic? I think you're modelling is very, but we don't ahve a ton of models left, so if we were to add someone--and I think we are going to--someone who could model and skin would be better. Also, I have yet to see you on MSN. Did you get my add contact request? If you wish to not hold these discussions out here in this topic, feel free to PM me.

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Friday, October 14, 2005 1:02:16 PM
nope i did not get your thing. but i can somewhat skin and i tryed to add u to my msn but it says u are not on... leperconzero@msn.com hmm i dunno why it donesnt work =/

Blbpaws never comes on MSN, you can find him on AIM or the ICQ Messenger. Edit: Sorry, it just seems your never on, unless I added you wrong. AuroraAlphaHL2 [grin]

We talked the other night on MSN...When I'm on AIM, I'm on MSN. Now, can we get somewhere near the topic?

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Sunday, October 16, 2005 10:41:02 AM
ok are all the units going to be mixed on the same side ie nod+gdi on the smae side or is it going to have 6 sides for all the diff games?

Posted by: Blbpaws - Sunday, October 16, 2005 11:36:34 AM
They will be mixed.

What is the team colour anyways? for tibs, is it red or yellow?

Posted by: Jaytius - Sunday, October 16, 2005 1:06:45 PM
What ever the user selects them to be, remember when you're setting up a game you pick your own team colour from the ones available.

Posted by: PaRaDoX - Sunday, October 16, 2005 6:15:12 PM
it should be set to whare you can have them on diff sides[if possible to have more then three sides or i think so] so if you wanted to jest play ts or ra2 at a time[+1]

Posted by: Vyron - Sunday, October 16, 2005 11:00:40 PM
What is the team colour anyways? for tibs, is it red or yellow?
Maybe yellow since its like gold, the GDI color. I would use red as the RA color, like the Soviets.

Posted by: Blbpaws - Monday, October 17, 2005 3:06:38 AM
Gold and Red are the colors I would pick, but any can be chosen.
