1. I want to create new units, what do I need? and link to tutorial as well? please & Thank you 2. I want to create new factions and add to existing, I think I found one of your guy's (klingondragon I believe) nice organized instructions 3. Could use already created models if anyone is willing to share them, preferred modern military models. Is there a page within CNCLabs that has this already? lists of units/buildings with code and models ready for transfer? Feel free to PM and Thank You again ahead of time!

1+3) You generally need a model to create a new unit, here is a link to DetoNato's Public Sources topic: http://www.cnclabs.com/forums/cnc_postst4622_-Public-Sources.aspx About creating a new unit's code, the best way is to observe an already made code from the same kind of the unit you want to create, if you want to make an aircraft you can read the raptor's code as example. And from there you can check what each behaviour does, some behaviours (modules) have entries from other ini files. If you are ready to take some time, you can browse the behaviour you want to know where to find its entry by using this module list: http://www.cnclabs.com/forums/cnc_postst12909_List-of-INI-modules.aspx Tips on getting started with modding: http://www.cnclabs.com/forums/cnc_postst9305_Getting-starting--Modding.aspx ------------------------------------- 2) The tutorial by KlingonDragon explains everything you need, if you have a specific question you can ask here or PM him.

What's required for making new models? or copy and editing existing? that public sources is 12 years old and most the links wont go anywhere that isn't a not found page

To make a new model you need Gmax or other modelling program that exports W3D. Follow the first page of this guide to get Gmax and RenX installed in the correct way: http://www.cnclabs.com/modding/generals/infantry-modeling-tutorial/ Read the rest of the guide to have a general idea about modelling. To copy an existing model you need the W3D file that it uses, to edit it you need Gmax ^^ Yes, cncmaps is dead unfortunately. But, if you take some time to check some models, not all of the links are dead. If you want something else, make it.
