Hi everyone! I am interested in making a mod for Zero Hour. I have all the necessary equipment to do it. but I don't know how to start. Please help me to start.

I'd suggest starting simple. Mess with unit prices/build times, change weapon damage, experiment with commandsets. Get familiar with the code.

There is a post that let you learn getting starts modding. Start from edit the value like buildtime cost damage rate of fire and speed and so on and move further when you understand how it works. At first some editing may end up in a game crash but that's ok everyone do. Just search for ReleaseCrashInfo.tnt to find what exactly caused the game to crash and fix it. If some are too hard for you just ask us how to do so. Not to asking like above because it's too wide to get started. There're a bunch of video how to start modding ZH. it's easier than read the forum anyway after modding and you have a problem, ask and we will try to find a solution for you.

JarmenKell ) put a DRONE then see what the result ..... if your not happy put some special skill then Add and add and add and so on ..... .OPTIONS no. 2 Start for the worldbuilder make your own map. . .OPTIONS no. 3 Make a model using GMAX / RENX tutorial is on the youtube..:D

You may able to import but can't export. That's why we need RenX and Gmax it's similar to 3ds max but less tools. here is the link that you can get everything you need. but you have to find the crack by yourself since it's not purchasable through discreet website anymore for this version. https://w3dhub.com/forum/topic/414512-installing-tools-for-w3d-modding/

Does gmax or renx have the capabilities of creating good quailty units comparable to the contra mod units?

It's the artist, not the tool. If you're used to 3dsMax's interface and that you own it, then go ahead. There's just the conversion to .w3d you'll have to look for as an extra step.

It's good but it's tool kinda odd and old compare to new features that available in 3ds max.. But I can manage to make good quality model in both Gmax and 3ds max but after the Gmax crashes my model I mean damage model I can only open but can't skin and export I am going forward to 3ds max 8 because w3d importer and exporter only available for both version 7 and 8.

I'm not certainly sure about this but I think .obj should be able to switch between Gmax and 3ds max. In Gmax there is RenX which is Gmax but able to import and export w3d model for general.
