If you want to improve your modding skills you have to do it a lot :P, doesn't matter if you use notepad, notepad++ or whatever pad you can find, practice makes perfect...
If you want to improve your modding skills you have to do it a lot :P, doesn't matter if you use notepad, notepad++ or whatever pad you can find, practice makes perfect...
True I am using notepad too but since I made the game crash to often because of my typo so I am using Notepad ++ and Text Wrangler to guide me for the typo. Even copy paste though lol However another reason because my standard notepad cause my ini not to update as much for example I have reduced cost and build time to 0 but unit still slow build and cost me the same. When I am open with notepad ++ and text wrangler I found so many hidden text around my unit and I did removed them all and things working great again. don't know why.

All of you Sir are correct but my POINT is... . . . . . of course , if you use some kind of programming tools like not a plain notepad it is easily to determined what is comment or what is mod source code.... . . and Yes, this is one the advantage of modder to identify easily the wrong of her/him code ... i'am right yes or no? . . therefore the time you consume for your specific task is less, you make alot of time to make another task. :D . . by the way ..:D Happy modding cheers GENERALS..:D

From my experience. Not much difference though. Experience and knowledge is what you need the most because sometimes we most likely wasting time keep adjusting value and behaviour to check how it will perform in the game. Because as we all know we have no app like General simulator to see the difference so we have to open the game every time we changed the value and adding new behaviour. For newbie you almost running the game in almost every single behaviour you added into the game to avoid problems because I am once trying to add and modified the whole army at once and after I ran a first game. it crashes. The releasecrashinfo.txt can't give me a detail so what I can do but delete and start all over again. How sad... Right now I can able to add so many units and factions at once and run a game only once to see all of my results. Using a plain notepad. These app may look good for modder but in fact it's unnecessary. Therefore some people actually make an app for General where you can input behaviour for unit you like and create ini for you which I can't remember the name but it's good for starter the drawbacks is it's too limit for many modder because the app let you choose a standard behaviour but if you want to add a super unit (cheater hacker glitcher whatsoever) it can't be done by the app.
