You need to create a Maps folder in the game directory (the one with the exe). Then put your new shell map in there under the same name as the existing shell map. This will override it. It's called ShellMapMD in Zero Hour. I don't remember what it is in generals. You can find it in Maps.big or MapsZH.big

Just make a backup copy of the original ShellMap. Then name your map the same way the ShellMap is named.

You can make a copy of maps.big somewhere on your PC just in case. Once you have map.big open up FileBig and extract it right there and then. FileBig will extract the maps in the folder. After it's done delete map.big from there. That's what I've done for my Generals so it works xD. Alternatively, if you don't feel comfortable doing that copy map.big and put it inside of a new folder. Then extract it with File Big there. Then you won't have to delete the original map.big in the game data folder.

Yep, extract it in the Generals folder, if you're taking the 1st approach I suggested ;)

You shouldn't extract the big file at all. Just check the file path and name of the shell map, then give your new map the same file path and name.

Update: Can I Override it By just using an Big File?

What is your obsession with big files? A big file is just a file that holds lots of smaller files. Any files you put in your big should work the same way as files in your game folder. So yes, it will work in a big archive.
