We're not supposed to share and post links to illegal copies of any games or software here in accordance to forum rules.

The only legal way to download generals and zh (that I know of) is by buying them on origin as part of the ultimate collection. These work on Windows 7 and 10 (the discs don't on those operating systems)

Posted by: acidbrain - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 2:55:08 AM
You can use the discs on windows 7, I use them, you have to use the unofficial patch to be able to play the game, you wont need the cd anymore after patching...don't know if this works for windows 10...

Posted by: klingondragon - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 5:45:07 AM
That's not an unofficial patch. That's an illegal no CD hack.
That's not an unofficial patch. That's an illegal no CD hack.
Dude that's not illegal, it´s a community made First Decade patch...:P And btw I love illegal, fuck the system...

Does it edit (or add) big files or does it edit the .exe?
Does it edit (or add) big files or does it edit the .exe?
If im not mistaking both...

Here is some more info...

Posted by: klingondragon - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 1:44:49 PM
To the best of my knowledge, based on the disc security and Windows removing the driver, the only way to run generals without a disc is with a modified .exe which skips the disc check. Unlike normal modding this is not condoned by ea or most countries' laws.

Well i have 2 original First Decade boxes, they dont work without the patch so F.U.C.K the law...:P Dude i suggest that you spend some more time outside the box, your brain functions better if a rebel breeze is blowing through it...Only people who need law obey law...We never signed for laws, they were shoved down our throats...Im not saying that you should get pirate software, music or movies, if you pirate you F.U.C.K. the developers...I always buy original stuff because i just hate copied or pirated material, in case of The First Decade the choice was simple...Not playing with my discs because i get an error after installing that i have to put the disc in my pc while it already was in there or get the unofficial patch and play the game without the disc...Easy choice and you would do the same...:P

Posted by: klingondragon - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 2:20:09 PM
Actually when I was faced with that choice I stopped playing for 2 years and then bought the game on origin.

The single greatest threat to this world is people who obey and stand in line, orderfollowers are the worst kind of people...Like i mentioned above, spend some more time outside the box...i bought 2 games already and i am not going to buy a third one just because windows os doesnt like the game anymore...simple...The game is 13 years old now so dude give it a break...As a matter of fact im writing new software at the moment which is an expansion on Zero Hour, not going to ask money for it when it's done because i used material from the game, it's free for everyone who wants to use it, probably 10 people left on the planet but hey i just love to write code and stuff, it will take a few more months to complete the software because i always get more ideas when im writing code, it's a s.h.i.t.load of work...You're gonna love it thats for sure...:P

Are you calling me a Nazi?

Posted by: acidbrain - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 2:57:00 PM
Are you calling me a Nazi?
Nope, wasnt talking about you in specific, was talking generally, this world is suffering because the majority of the people are obeying the establishment, the establishment is making laws while laws are worth shit, laws only get value if the majority gives up his freedom and obeys the laws...We gave away our power so a few can rule over us...If we take back our power this world will change because we have changed...Now think about that for a while and try to be outside of the box they created for you, and you helped with it btw, also did it in the past but i love to be free now, no more bounderies in the mind...Freedom is a state of Mind

I like how this escalated. Is this topic officially derailed?

Posted by: acidbrain - Thursday, September 8, 2016 5:30:00 AM
I like how this escalated. Is this topic officially derailed?
Didn't escalate, just a bit off track... Discussions don't escalate when intelligence is present, usually people get upset if other people have different opinions because they have no control over their thoughts, emotions and actions... This topic is not officially derailed...sry I know you would have loved to see a flamewar but that says more about you than the people who were discussing some matters over here...bye bye

Not trying to get the law involved in this one discussion-wise. This forum does not condone the sharing of warez or pirated versions of software. We don't want this forum to be like that, warez and pirating websites already do. I'm not an admin, but I know how basic forum rules because I'm part of a lot of communities. It's under this thread under warnable: http://www.cnclabs.com/forums/cnc_postst15657_New-Forum-Rules--as-of-19-12-2015.aspx in regards to 'Posting any illegal content, pirated content, or unauthorized software.'

which is why i was trying to push origin over the hacks.

Posted by: acidbrain - Saturday, September 10, 2016 8:41:40 AM
which is why i was trying to push origin over the hacks.
And once again i say that the unofficial tfd patch is not a hack, the unofficial patch includes the EA official patches and fixes a lot of bugs, the community added some more stuff to it like online play for the older games... The patch can be found at multiple remaining C&C related sites so if it was a hack would it be on those sites? dont think so... www.moddb.com www.cncnz.com
Info from fileplay: NathanCNC, with the help of other community members, has created an EPIC Patch 1.03 for The First Decade. This patch fixes many different bugs and adds a number of fixes to the game. Online play has been added to all of the classic titles such as Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert! You also no longer need the disc in the drive to play any of the games! This patch includes EA’s official Patch 1.01 and Patch 1.02. If you already have these installed, the patch will recognize it, and only add the necessary Patch 1.03 changes. From commandandconquer.com - "This patch is unofficial, we cannot help with any specific Patch 1.03 issues, you are download this at your own risk. However, the patch has been used my hundreds of C&C community members, each reporting no errors with any Patch 1.03 specific changes."
It just doesnt make sense to me that someone buys a new game while you can patch the previous edition with a community made patch which contains the official patches and a lot of bug fixes, all logic is thrown overboard in my humble opinion, with your logic you alo cant play mods such as Rise of the Reds or Contra because those mods also edited the original files... And when it comes to EA and their wonderfull support to the community i say FU EA, they killed the freakin franchise ffs, they teased us with gens 2 and aborted it ffs, here is a reminder of the stuff they canceled, once again i say FU EA... The patch may be fine, I'm not saying the whole patch is a back or illegal, I'm saying the bit which allows you to play without the disk is the hack. I could call a mod a patch but it would still be a mod. (In fact the patches for zh were just mods). Since Windows removed the driver that was used with lots of games in the mid 00s the only 2 ways to run the game is with a no CD hack (contained in the aforementioned 'patch') or by installing the driver (something that I doubt a community patch would actually do).

Klingon you are making it way too complicated, a lot of people use this and i think you are one of a few who bought a new game when this problem occured... Nice quote from a movie relates to this, Risky Business...:P
Sometimes you gotta say "What the F#ck", make your move. Every now and then, saying "What the F#ck", brings freedom. Freedom brings opportunity, opportunity makes your future.
So your game doesnt work and you have to use a "hack". What the F#ck. EA isnt going to help you and buying a new game while it can be fixed with a community patch is just silly and a waste of your money, EA already got your money once why give it again?...What The F#ck, if you cant say it you cant do it...:P This lesson was on the house...Memorize it, it will help you in the future with finding Freedom

I didn't buy the game again when the problem occured, I bought the game 2 years later. Plus when I bought the ultimate collection I got it for half the price I paid for generals alone. Finally some people won't have the first decade so they can't use the first decade patch (which includes the hack) so they either have to get a back of a website (I'm not giving any exapmles) or LEGALLY get the games on origin. If you have a LEGAL way of getting the games to run then post it else I think we've ruined this topic enough and any further retort you have, I will not reply to.
