So I'm trying to get back into modding, and I started with something fairly simple; adding new music. The .inis were already there, so I just added my new .mp3 and added support code for the thing... But then I get hit with THIS crap: For some reason, I need administrator permission to do ANYTHING with the files in Zero Hour's directory. Fine, I already have it... But then, whenever I got to save an edited .ini file, instead of actually updating the existing .ini, it goes to create a new one with the same name and asks me whether to ro overwrite the old one or save it as a new one. Obvious, I go to overwrite the existing, but then, without giving me any reason, it just says "Access is denied"... I'm clueless. This happens with ANY .ini file, and I don't know why it even goes to save the EDITED ini as a new one, much less deny the administrator the ability to SAVE the new file... ugh, someone please help me, as it is right now I basically can't mod whatsoever. Screenshots attached. EDIT: Oh, and in case you're wondering, this is piece of music I'm trying to add: I'm planning a snowy Single-Player Mission with this music playing. xD -------------------- So... how is that going to help me? do you mean that I save on a desktop folder that has nothing to do with zh, then delete the original .ini and drop in the new one? sounds like it'd be tedious...

You know, this is the first time I discover that my head can transform to a napalm bomb xD. I'm currently being taught how to code a game from the scratch by Rrtaya. Why don't you ask qqqqqqqqqp to explain what he wrote for you?

ok due to my post ability to break minds ill try to clarify. mines is a windows 7 problem. but i figure it can be solved either way. what i do to fix this problem i save it to desktop then i delete the file thats in the ini . then move the new file where the old one is i shouldnt give you a problem but it might. then u close the program thst u use to edit it or load up the new file and then it should fix it. its an annoying thing but joys of not being admin even tho you're admin.... also joys of windows edit: and now looking at the pics thats exactly how u fix but windows 7 allows u to save to desktop afyter u press yes instead of giving u a denial
