Here is another tutorial for command and conquer generals zero hour world builder! In this one I am going to tell you have to move a Unit and how to move a Team of Units! The reason I called this thread SMALL BUT POWERFUL Is because this comes in handy for a lot of things, CINE Intros the is the main one (I'll do a tutorial on that topic too.) IN skirmish maps for destructo fun! And many others. How to make Units move. Here we go! The first step is to place an object such as a vehicle or a plane. Don't do a plane yet they're a bit different. So I will place a nuke truck and name it Truck1. That white line is just his sight range so don't worry if your object doesn't have that, it doesn't make a difference. Step2, Add a waypoint path, to do this click to make a waypoint and then click and drag until you have an arrow. Like that. Then release your finger from the mouse and another waypoint will appear. Keep doing this until you have a path connecting back to your first waypoint. Under the column Waypoint path labels name it TruckPath1 (OR whatever name you gave it CarPath1 VanPath1 etc., Now go to the scripting menu under PlyrCivilian make a new script called:Move Truck. Then go to the actions if true tab click Null Operation (Does nothing) Then click edit. GO to Unit>Move> Set a specific unit to EXACTLY follow a waypoint Path. Now, pick the unit that you named and the waypoint path. WA LA! TEST IT OUT! [blush] How to move a Team of units (Don't have pictures for this part [sad] [sad] ) Let's say you have a lot of units, and if you make a whole bunch of scripts like that, it doesn't work! (At least that's what happened to me I had 19 Nuke Trucks!) So there is a easier form of moving them all BUT! The bad news if they all have to be in a straight line they can't be dotted everywhere. ANYWAY! You don't need to name your units! Add your Units, and a waypoint path I will name the waypoint path Move Units Path1 Now select the edit tab in the upper left corner. then select Edit Teams. You'll see all the Players what we want it PlyrCivilian select it. Then click Add new Team. Name it Move Units then click OK. Now exit out of the teams window and select all your units. Under Team select your team that you named it So mine is Move Units. Now they all belong to plyrcivilian's team Move Units. Now go to the scripting menu under PyrCivilian make a new script named Move Team. Under the Actions if true tab click Null Operation (does nothing) then click edit. Go to Team>Move> Select to EXACTLY follow a waypoint path. So now it looks like Team Move Units, Set to exactly follow waypoint path Move Units Path1 as a team TRUE There we are test it out! Any questions? [grin] [grin] [smile] [sunglasses]
