What is the max amount of weapon slots I can have? (primary, secondary, etc). If its more than three, what are they?Also, can you get primary and secondary weapons to fire at the same time?

Can't really answer any of those, but I think you can have 3 or more slots, and I think you can fire two at the same time... I think the Comanche is firing its primary and secondary at the same time (machine gun and rockets).

The Overlord and the Gattling Cannon? (Think they're counted as two different units though.)

The HummVee has three weapons I believe, the machine gun, the TOW, and a dummy weapon to allow it to target air units.

3. Not counting portable structures, like the overlord and helix.

Most primary and secondary weapons already fire at the same time.

Close, but not quite.
Before upgrade, it has the machine gun and the dummy weapon. After upgrade, it has the machinegun, ground TOW, and air TOW.

That's why you can see AI humvees stop when aircraft comes past, and rotate their turret, while u get the 'under attack' msg. the dummy attacks you for no dmg.
The weapon slot limit is 3, but then you can have up to 14 (full commandset) button-triggered special powers, or quite a few portable structures, but from what I've tested, it takes ages to code that successfully.
question any of you get createobject work with grantupgrade? I tried it once and got no effects at all.

A good amount of new units and stuffs can be easily created just by copying the codes for a similar existing unit and than change/editing it bit by bit. It's not hard to learn that actually, got almost an entire new faction working from doing that myself.
