Hi all, back again with yet another problem lol, In the last week I've learnt to map build, Script, Mod, and I'm now learning the basics of using Gmax/RenX/W3D importer and all that fun and fascinating stuff so I havn't really been playing Generals, however I went to play a LAN game with my son the other day (I do enjoy giving him a good pasting on the field) and I couldn't connect with him, we both appear in the lobby fine until one of us tries to join a game (Either way round) then a message appears something on the lines of "the other player may have modified his version, synchronization has been lost, you may wish to add them to your ignore list"
I'm aware this is because I've modded my game and was aware when I started modding that I may not be able to play online but didn't realise this meant LAN games too. I just wondered if anyone else has this problem and if anyone knows of a fix for it aside from removing all my modifications.

Thanks

from what i know, you can only play lan/online if you have the exact same game
so all .big files have to be exact the same...
so i hope you made a backup, like i do,

well thats what I thought too mate so I tried copying over all the INI files and map files to the desktop which my son uses to play against me but I still get the same message. Ultimately I know creating a back up and removing all mods and stuff, reverting the game back to its original state will solve the problem but I don't really wanna have to do that every time I wanna play a LAN game but I guess if there is no other way then that is how it will have to be.
Thanks mate.

yea, but for example, i made a .big backup file, and a mod file,
so if i play with my brother, i copy all the modded files in the mod file, and then copy all .big files to my game folder 😉
