When I read Gren's tutorial on making the map, he stated that there is a 'dark grid' on on the screen for the 'copy mode' in the terrain copy tool. I don't see it. Is there something wrong with my program❓

There's nothing wrong with your program... you just need to set your Level of Detail to the Low setting:

View -> Set LOD -> Low.

The Set LOD option is located right at the very bottom of the View options list. Your display may become corrupted when you select the Low setting but you can remedy this by resizing your window using the middle button (which looks like a small square) at the very top right corner of the window. (click on it twice so that you resize and then go back)

The Terrain Copy Tool grid will then display at this LOD 😉
