How do you make straight lines with the Height Brush tool? Is there a way to make it square instead of circular?

Also, what does AOD mean?

Select the hight brush tool, the one without a + or - sign.

Make the feather width 0 (the green circle around the blue one will go away).

Then click the lock tool. Lock tool in combination with height brush will force the brush move in certain angles, i.e. straight forward, sidewards or in 45 degree.

You can also lock the texture tool to draw nice regular shapes, or the road tool to make straight roads, the fence tool etc.

AoD is Art of Defense, a type of multiplayer game common in Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour, iirc.
