Hi! XD Gen. Shaffer here, long-time CnC Generals fan, recently getting into the Tiberium series...anyway, I've got a Generals-related question. Note, this isn't Zero Hour...I've been having trouble with the expansion pack, but that's another question. My question is that I have the XUCR .big extractor, plus a couple of mods, what this has resulted in is in one of the .big files there is an .ini file (I think) called AI.ini or something like that. It's got a bunch of parameters that I'm too lazy to go through right now XD And it's on my home computer, which I'm not at right now anyway. I wanted to know if that was the file I wanted to tinker with in order to make the AI tougher, or there was another file.

See, what I'm trying to do is make it so the AI tends to be infantry-heavy rather than vehicle-heavy in unit production...I've got the meat grinder mod for CnC Generals, but it's a .big file, and I've got other mods that rely on the Data and INI and Art folders, which override .bigs. Oh, that brings me to another question. Can I find some way to pack Data and INI and Art folders into a .big file to use? Or do the opposite? Extract the files into the Data folders? Because some of the files have the same name and I don't know what I'm overwriting or changing or whatnot.

I'm sorry that's so long for an introductory question...😊 but I hope that I can get some help! Thanks in advance...

As far as unit production goes, that's done with the default SkirmishScripts.scb file that loads into the map at game start. This is found in the program side of the game under Data/Scripts. You can edit the teams that are built to your liking.

Hi Gen. Shaffer:

Our Generals Modding  section should be of help. To create and extract .big files, you should be able to use the XCC Universal Container Reader or a utility called FinalBIG (which you can find a download for on that page).

This Generals File Directory  may also be helpful for explaining what all the major Generals files / folders are for.
