out of all the world war 2 games out there, i think there should be a world war 1 mod. and also a civil war mod based on the american civil war.
I can understand war over resources and terretory, but war over religion is like killing somebody over who has the best imaginary friend...

There's a lto of challenge to something like a WW1 mod... Off the top of my head I know that they used a LOT of infantry, you would need to have something like the BFME engines and such to be able to support so many units on screen at once... Also the tanks and planes were only just being developped at about that time.

Another thing off the top of my head is that a lot of countries still used cavalry as well: I think it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to create something liek that using the Generals/ZH engine.

it would be possible though, think of the games like lord of the rings, battle for middle earth 1 and 2, bothIn those games, all they use are infantry and catapults. so those graphic engines and whatnot should be able to support that many units on a screen. If your a mod maker or no one, resarch the engines used on those games,(and Age of empire 3)

BFME were using the SAGE engine, the same engine used on Generals.

There was a WWI mod called The Great Trench War, but I have no idea if it ever finished.

Yes, but BFME 2 was using an enhanced SAGE engine to have better support for all of these things. For example, some of the things you find in CNC3 would probaly not run too fast in Generals.
