Is it possible to add units from various generals challenge senarios to a regular skirmish??
I mean units like the "stealth comanche" or the "aurora alpha bomber" etc. If so, where do o I find them and are there any special procedures for adding them??

Well, you can already access units seen in the General's Challenge by selecting the proper general in Skirmish. The only exception is the Boss General, which you could probably access by cloning her entry in PlayerTemplate.ini.

Hey CommieDog

I've made some changes to the USA side which include modifications to USA units,and units added to the USA side taken from China and the Holland add-on. I usually only play skirmishes. I want to be able to maintain all the changes I've made and at the same time incorporate some new units found in the generals challenges without actually going into a generals challenge which, as far as I can see, limits and restricts you. I looked at "PlayerTemplate.INI" but I don't understand how I would use that to acomplish what I want to do. Can you provide a more detailed explination??

Oh, so you want to add units from the individual USA generals to the base USA side? That really isn't any different than adding units from another faction, or another mod for that matter. It's the same cloning process either way.

U can find a "secret" stealth GC command center that lets you build all stealth units/buildings by going to gla stealth->buildings->GC_Stlth_Command_Center

I tried adding the construct command for the "AirF_AmericaVehicleComanche" to the commandset for the america airfield but it's not working.......what am I doing wrong??

Well, you'll need to take off the "AirF_" prefix on the AirF_AmericaVehicleComanche's prerequisites listing.

U can probably copy code from afg comanche to reg comanche in map.ini to get the stealth upgrade to work, then just add the upgrade to the airfeild in scripts or by map.ini

I did what CommieDog suggested, that is I simply removed the prefix "AirF" from AirF_AmericaAirfield in the preprequsite listing and it worked for the Stealth Comanche and the Combat Chinook. However, when I did exactly the same thing for the King Raptor (AirF_AmericaJetRaptor), I got the King Raptor as a selectable vehicle but I can't select it for construction. When I place the cursor over the icon, it doesn't light up and the info box that comes up says "requires AirField"......well I've already placed it in the command set for the america airfield so I don't understand what the problem is. Any suggestions or ideas??

I figured it out. It was my own stupidity. I have been in the habit of placing the "AirF" units in with "Object\AmericaVehicle. Thats just for my own sense of organization. What I neglected to do when I placed the AirF_AmericaJetRaptor there was delete the original entry. Works fine now........I've been screwing around with the "Aurora Alpha Bomber" and the "B3 Carpet Bomber" I have both appearing but the carpet bomber will not target and the AirF_aurora doesn't seem to do anything different then my standard aurora. How would I go about incorporating them correctly???

One thing you do know is how to make duble posts and trible posts. there's a editing button above your own post and you can edit them whenever you want.

Ther really isn't much to incorporate with respect to the B3 or Aurora--the only difference I know of is a discount of 500 for the Air Force General's Aurora. You'd be much better off just changing that one line of code.

I tried incorporating the Airfoce general carpet bomb by placing it in the commandset for AmericaAirfield (AirF_Command_CarpetBomb). I got the icon but on the main map, even though I get the targeting circle, It will not target anything. I then copied and pasted the AirF_carpetBomb module tag from AirF_stratagy center into AmericaAirfield in FactionBuilding (I remebered that the B52 Carpet bomb module already is present in AmericaCommandCenter but only ";" out). So I figured the above plan might work......... Again I got the same results, all the elements are there except for the targeting capacity. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong???

If you want to call the Carpet Bomb superweapon from the Airfield, then the Airfield must receive the OCLSpecialPower module present on the Air Force General's Strategy Center. The module on the Command Center refers to a similar superweapon that was removed in the Beta stages of Generals and is not identical to either of the Carpet Bomb superweapons in ZH.

I beleive that thats what I've done. I copied this:

Behavior = OCLSpecialPower ModuleTag_24;this has been removed from everywhere but the ChinaAirfield in CHI05
SpecialPowerTemplate = AirF_SuperweaponCarpetBomb
OCL = AirF_SUPERWEAPON_CarpetBomb
CreateLocation = CREATE_AT_EDGE_NEAR_SOURCE

End

from the AirF_strategyCenter to the AmericaAirfield but I'm still not able to target. Do I need to delete the entry from the AirF_strategyCenter before it will work??? I know I've had problems somtimes when things are duplicated. I really don't know, I,m just guessing. In any case, I am familiar with the mod tag in AmericaCommandCenter which I did get to work by removing the ";" s. It produces a B52 carpet bomb. Do I perhapes need to eliminate that one to make what I'm trying to do now work?? Aother guess I my part.

I figured this one out........When I'm testing my mods, I'm in the habit of saving games after a certain amount of construction and organization is done so I don't have to keep reconstructing a senario to do testing. I was testing the CarpetBomb in a saved game that I had using for testing for some time. When I created a new game, the CarpetBomb worked. I've run into this before but simply forgot about it. So I guess its just a matter of some saved games will not work properly with new mods.

I have another question.......as far as other "scripted senarios" go such as the "nuke carpetBomb" found in Nuke_general or the "ArtilleryBarrage" (not sure where that one is); I've tried the same method (that is copying the appropriate ModuleTag to the building you want it to originate from)...but it doesn't seem to work. Example: I copied the ModuleTag from the Nuke_ChinaStrategyCenter to the AmericaCommandCenter and of course placed the proper command in the CommandSet for the AmericaCommandCenter. Well, I don't even get an icon. So I'm not sure whats going on there. Any suggestions?
