I made a neat little 2 Player map with a DAM, a working PingPong Train, a couple of civilian cars offroad racing, a police car chasing a sports car around a building, etc. I've got pretty much everything down. Looked at the map in observer mode which is all that works until player starts are placed. All works and looks fine in there, but once all the Starts, Zones, WayPoints, etc are placed it does weird stuff:

Map is set in Morning, but appears like Late Evening. My buildings appear darker, and all I can build is a BullDozer/Worker(Which isn't created already like usual). Command Center WayPoints cannot be set, the Dozer can't build anything, has the Red Circle appearing when trying to move, but moves there as long as it is within the Inner Perimeter??? He can even drive right through the Command Center. He is able to run over/kill Civilians and Cars which aren't moving like they should...only basic stationary movements. Train works 100% though??? It is like StephenKing's- The Langoliers. Same in MultiPlayer and Skirmish. CPU player seems to have same difficulties. If I sell my command center all the dozers blow up and it says I lost, and if I look at the CPU player really quick he is able to start building a power plant??? It is like we are keeping each other from playing...messages that appear in upper left when trying to build say weird things like Can't Reach Construction Site when he is sitting right next to it.

Players are all setup right, zones are right...I even tried it without a CombatZone, but the whole map was black then??? Took forever to get the Train to stop where I place my stations...I ended up just getting it to stop and placed them where it stopped...sometimes I can name a point and it will stop 2-4 points later, sometimes 2-4 before the point??? I wish it was possible to have two stations without making one of them disembark, so I wouldn't have to do the PingPong and make my train look stupid. Some vehicles need Follow WayPoint Exact Scripting too otherwise they look like they are drunk driving, but then they drive through buildings, etc. Not much works either, like Jump to Game does nothing, etc. This thing is old enough Wal-Mart is selling copies for $9.96, yet the WB is still in Beta? Could there be problems with my WB, or is there something I'm missing/a newer version? I can open other maps and resave it and it works fine though, so I'd think something would go wrong there. Any help would be great. I love the game and how easy they made it to create my own maps, but no matter how easy it is if they don't work they can't be played..

Map sent, minus Offroad Race and Police Chase since I was currently editing it without them hoping it would help. It may have somewhat as now the CPU builds a Power Plant and Barracks somehow??? He sends like 5 people over, but they stop at the middle bridge like my dozer does as though they can't move further either. They ignore my dozer till I run them over.

Okay, heres whats is wrong:
1)There were about 22 extra water polygons, each with a set depth of 128. so basically, you map was under water. This is why you were unable ot construct any thing. Delete all water polygone except for the one for the dam and the river.
2)the inner Pirimeters were slightly too big. They are only to encompas the area around the command center.
And that about sums it up. If you still have problems, let me know.

Okay, I figured it had to be something really odd the way the map was acting. Wonder how I got all the polygons??? Only thing I can figure is when I had a script started for the OffRoad Racing, I configured it wrong and ran it then the Game just set at a Black screen and wouldn't load. End Tasked Game.dat, etc and the computer was still slow and I think World Builder didn't save it right. I noticed it a couple times when clicking the Main Water Perimeter that it kept selecting water up in the sky and I'd delete it and they'd come right back...I figured it was how Generals made the Cloud effect so didn't mess with it. I guess I'll keep deleting till they are gone.

I wonder if that is why the train stopped weird too? I've tweaked my Dam's water so it looks better, now I just need to fix the cliff textures...I can't seem to get it to apply textures right in the black areas it leaves behind.

I also wanted to make it snow just where Frosty is, but it appears there is no option for making an area snow, and it looks like I need to add the Snow script to even make it snow too...makes no sense why they give the option for Snow Weather.

Just wanted to say thanks. I played the map and it works awesome now. I shrunk the InnerPerimeters just a little tighter. I ended up shrinking the sides by the rails the most, otherwise the CPU keeps building War Factories right on the rails...what an idiot! Normal AI never tries to capture the oil buildings though even though they are within outerperimeter. Once he ran out of money he just built about 5 guys to attack the train cause I had men garrisoned in it. Wish there was a way to let my men fire out of it too. Then he just sat there and wasn't even a challenge.

Hopefully Brutal is better. I'll tweak it some more tonight. I made the train respawn after death now too, so it is always there. Does some really wild stuff if I plant Demo traps on the track everywhere! Trains appearing on top of each other, etc.

about the oil derricks, check the toturial to add AI on the main page of this site. those derricks should be outside of the outerperimeter and instead be inside another area. heres a direct copy from the toturial, plz see the entire toturial for more detail:

make an area that encompasses mostly everything that is not a base area. Call it 'CombatZone'. The AI will only capture derricks and refineries if they are inside this area.

Cool, thanks. I remember reading that, but didn't put the two together. I guess it makes sense with the perimeters being "their" area they wouldn't capture something considered theirs or neutral in their own territory.

Sorry about two posts. I'm used to my other forums were people post so quick an edited post is always missed cause all it gets is a little line saying edited, and if someone posts at the same time they never see the message, so posting another reply makes it stand out and if someone posts at the same time, usually the new would appear below theirs, so they know there is something new. Saves having to post again saying "Did you see what I wrote", and text is text, so it all is the same size in storage.

Not too bad looking for my first map so far. I'll be sure to make it available to everyone for the help. I probably would have been stuck on the water issue for days never seeing it. Glad I found this forum...can't seem to get the others to open up. RVMECH's tutorial on another site was a big help, but I couldn't get their forums to open and all emails there bounce back.

P.S. Anyone know how to raise the elevation of the entire map/objects/etc? I was going to play with my dam and have it raise the water level, but to do what I want would probably need to raise everything else up...unless I figure out something different.

When u make a new map, u have an option to choose the starting ground level, default is 16 or 18, i would use 25-50 if you have some cannions in your map and 100-200 if it's going to be a map were the middle or the outsides is very lowered.
