(I assume this is the right forum as my last post didn't get any correction on it. Please contact me if it isn't so I can redo it.)
WARNING: This tool is still in beta, it has a couple of issues. Please be wary of thatHi people! It's me, the person who once posted a post about a tool to randomize generals and then never posted the tool like a year ago! I don't know if anyone is interested at this point, but I figured it's worth doing a follow-up. I've been working on and off on the tool, redoing it to work with other sage games (Currently only works with generals right now still) and planning features like the ability to get the tool to create random generals and units (Not finished and therefore not included in this version).
For those who don't know, which is probably most of you:
This is a tool that basically scans in the INI of your game and then randomizes it, writing the randomized INI's into the INI folder in your sage game (In this case generals).
IT does not mess with the INI.big itself (or INIZH.big in this case) and it resets your game back to normal the moment you close the tool, leaving no trace of it in your game files. If there's already files in your INI folder then it will temporarely move them whilst it's active, moving them back when you close it.
Here's a video of me using it (The video kinda shows off the process of how you find variables and such as well, so it's kinda boring)
And I got older videos on my channel that shows it more in action.
And here's where you can download it!
Download Here This tool requires certain knowledge of INI modification and how the game worksGame crashes will easily happen with certain variables, and some of them are very hard to randomize. There's a logic system in place to allow you to kinda filter down the randomization to certain situations, but some variables are just hard to deal with.
Also auto preset can be very unreliable, I only suggest using it to get a base preset that you want to modify. It might include variables that'll crash the game.
Planned features:
1. General creation.
2. Unit creation.
3. Allowing the tool to add modules and variables to an object that didn't previously have them.
I'm sorry for the messy forum post, i'm a bit tired and stressed whilst writing this.
If anyone finds any issues (Which is going to happen) or got any ideas for the tool: please message me about them.
