Hey there,

So I'm a novice map-maker and this is the second map I've made. It is a 4-player singleplayer desert map with an industrial complex at its center made with the ShockWave Mod World Builder. I have finished the map, but when I try to play it, the AI just sits there not doing anything.

When I made my first map, I had a few problems with the AI not doing anything but was able to fix them by giving them larger build areas. However, this map is literally a desert, and the AI players are all on large flat surfaces. All of the AI generals (except the USA Armor General; see at the bottom) have been added to the Skirmish Players. I've tried increasing their build areas, I've checked the other areas and waypoint paths, I've tried removing some civilian building I added (I put some unclaimed fake black markets and an unclaimed advanced nuclear reactor and cold fusion reactor), I've tried removing the salvage crates a scattered around the map, and I even got rid of the Valve Buildings I put in the industrial complex (they were unknowingly indestructible and only allowed for a garrison of one person, so they seemed a bit sketchy). I also removed a civilian crop duster and the supply docks, which were within the building areas of the AI. However, none of these changes made any difference.

If anyone is willing to check out the map and try and find a solution, I will be most grateful. Or just give any suggestions you have.

(Also, I can't seem to get USA Armor General to be added as a skirmish general. If anyone knows how to fix this, I'll give you a virtual hug.)

All I can think of is have you added skirmish players in the player list?

I've never played shockwave or used its WB but that's something you didn't mention and I know you have to do it in the ordinary WB.

skirmish is need a CombatZone,inner perimeter,outer perimeter,playerspawnpoint ,and also need a attack waypoint just like backdoor,center, and flank

i noticed if you do a map you need to edit the teams add skirmish players and edit them to attack each other

the script "SupplyDocks" is the reason for the problem. Delete the script and it works.

Hi guys,

Im having a similar problem with AI except I am unable to move my troops (or lone builder) around, I can click for him to move but he just stands there.

Problem only occurs on one of my custom maps however the map is quite a big with lots of buildings ect...

could there be a problem with the size of the map or is there something I missed while creating it?

ive checked perimeters, zones and areas, along with the waypoints for attack and they all seem to be fineπŸ˜’

The map was made with the Zero-Hour world builder

This is your problem. Pathfinding stops working entirely once the map gets too big.

hey again...

New problem this time

I made a smaller map than last time and everything works fine... apart from the way the AI plays.

The AI builds buildings and troops, but refuses to attack with them

Same scenario as last time, ive checked all waypoints ect but still no avail, the AI's troops just remain in their base

Any ideas?πŸ˜’

Did you set the teams to attack each other by cliking edit>edit player list> click the enemy box if gla- set to enemy china america don't click the civilian of course. then make them on the other teams if china- set the enemy gla,america, if usa- china,gla.

did you try this

you should create a test map before you create a real one just like me
tips:
-the map size 300-400 only or less is good
-the map should have Combatzone,InnerPerimeter,OuterPerimiter, and path's like Flank,Backdoor,Center.
-the map have less objects like 700 or less

Your paths

"Centre 1" and "Centre 2" must be spelled "Center 1" and "Center 2"

Upon that editing you can see the AI now attack properly!
