Is there a way to replicate the RA2 spy's disguising ability?

I tried the Bombtruck's disguise ability, but it can only target vehicles.

I doubt it. You might be able to manage a very convoluted workaround that gets kinda close.

There is the...
A "Disguise Kit" Method.

But that'd be the same as trying to replicate the Zerg Hatchery unit building.

Unless I'm mistaken, the C&C All-Stars mod has a port of the RA2 Spy... Although I never played a lot of the mod so I might be remembering it wrong.
