In ROTR (Rise of the Reds mod), there is a small mechanic that is called recycling, which basically allow GLA units (from the help of a particular unit) to upgrade itself with weapons or systems converte from different factions... The question is this one... Is it possible to spawn these units in multiple states (normal one, fully salvage one, recycled one), everything trough scripting?
