Hello I was making maps for a Facebook group then people started to complain about something

This thing was that the computer builds a lot if buildings and builds a lot of army a really big army but it doesn't attack with his army the computer only attacks with 2 or 3 tanks and he has about 200 tank in his base but he doesn't use them to attack

Can anyone solve this Problem?

Have you set up the attack paths correctly?

Ah, I am even surprised that you even got the AI to build lol!

Okay first, in skirmish maps for how even many AI you have you need these paths, Center1, Center2, Center3, Center4, Flank1, Flank2, Flank3, Flank4, Backdoor1, Backdoor2, Backdoor3, and Backdoor4.

But, before I explain, do you have the Bases perimeters and Combat zone?

Trying this from scratch maybe tricky! Upload new maps online or from here and then open them in your worldbuilder, Everything will be 'laid out' there for you to see, Just make sure you select 'show waypoints and polytool on the (menu bar options).
(click 'Open' on the menu bar, select the 'othermaps' tab; where you'll find other players maps).

You'll have to predetermine 'your base area' the 'opponents base area' and any neutral 'combat zones' between you with marked out zones connected with paths.

HOW TO: Zoom out and 'dot' each corner of your base area with the 'polytool'(lines will appear on the second dot) and Click and drag the 'waypoint tool' for paths, is a matter of red and green lines that AI recognise..

I'll bet that this is something else though like Teams...

Well you obviously plotted out your base area when you started making this map.. Now you have to mark this area out with a Tool so the computer recognises it in-game.

Predetermine 'your base area' the 'opponents base area' and any neutral 'combat zones' in-between you with this tool...
The map in the screenshot you posted doesn't really have a combat zone; because its 2 sided with water in-between! but that little island in the centre would count as a neutral combat zone! 'dot' each corner of it with the Polygon tool and name it a Combat Zone in the object properties box... I forget if naming it is a drop down option?

HOW TO: Zoom out and 'dot' each corner of your base area with the 'polygon tool'(lines will appear on the second dot). And you Click and drag the 'waypoint tool' for paths, is a matter of red and green lines that AI use

Thank you all

I saw the topic that acidbrain posted

I already know these things but I thought they aren't important

I will now fix my maps and add this to them

Thank you all 🙂

Yeah this was posted around the same time for the same map, I have actually managed to make a map that is quite hard to beat(I haven't succeeded in beating it)

Thanks for the consideration!

Check my map out on the zero hour maps (trench turmoil) and tell me what you think!

cheeeeeeers ha

That map isn't that hard. the AI did work and I was attacked but using basic tactics and some patience I had no problem.

Hello again Carlos! Again, you just made a small mistake, though not as small as last time. You are making a 2 Player map. Therefore, you do not need any Flank 3's 4's or any Backdoor 3's and 4's. What you need is to have Center1, Flank1, and Backdoor1 leading to Player 1's base and Center2, Flank2, and Backdoor2 pointing at Player 2.

Also, when I fixed it, they still didn't attack and I saw that the reason for this was, the layout of the maps is much too small. Compare your base sizes and zones with Alpine Assault and you'll see what I mean 🙂. the AI are very stuborn when it comes to space.   Alpine Assault.zip (272kb) downloaded 29 time(s).   Winter Face-Off.zip (50kb) downloaded 28 time(s).

so is there no way to make the AI attack from more than three directions?😮
