Sorry, me again, but I am editing the generals .csf file, which I converted to a .str as that is supposed to prevent the glitches where the text isn't fully shown and cuts off... However, when I created the .str file and put it in my Data/English, I still get the glitch..

The text looks fine inside the .str editor

just use notepad to edit your str, you shouldn't need a special editor. Also, make sure you downloaded the Zero Hour version of the file. Not exactly sure what its doing to mess up, my guess would be your editor though.

Ok, so I did a computer file search for any generals.csf files, since there shouldn't be any, and I found one in some AppData/Local/VirtualStore file of Command & Conquer Generals ZH... WTF?! I looked inside and there is a Data folder containing English and INI folders, the English containing a generals.csf file that looks like one I had previously edited and in the INI folder, there was a locomotor file, which, in the past, if I edited the locomotor file, the game didn't read it... So why are these here, all they're doing is f**king things up for me

EDIT: I deleted the .csf file from the second C&CZH folder and now I'm certain the game is ignoring my .str file, the things I edited in the .str show up as default in game 😞

hmm, you probley need to delete the game's original csf file for it to read your str

CSF needs a special tool to open, ive never found one that works well. Replace it with the STR found in the public downloads topic, generals modding section of the fourms, if your going to do modding in that area.

Thanks for the download. The problem ive always found with CSF editors though is that they don't save files right, they get corrupted and stuff. If this one saves right, then it might be nice to have, especially if the modder using it doesn't put his CSF in a .big file
