This is a symbol, a sign, they already ended Red Alert AND Tiberium, CnC F2P means there will not be a Generals 3.
That means its the end of Generals. EA is done with CNC, but we aren't.
This is an opportunity for all true fans. Mod one(or more)of the cnc games, send it to EA.
It won't have ANYTHING to do with the other CnCs, except its origins.
EA could then have a WORKING game, and all they would have to do is mass-produce it.
A re-boot, so to speak. Wait until we're for sure this is it, like 5 years without a hint of new cnc games, then make it. New factions, new units, new storyline.
It's a great idea.

If they really betting on this F2P version, there will be no more cnc after it as they'll focus only on updating it over and over. for us to make a game that EA would sell, it would need something that makes it different from the others so it would need much more than a mod, a complete change to the game, therefore, not a mod anymore. it is not impossible for a generals 3 to come out, but EA won't be making it anytime soon. i have an example where a franchise made so much success than fans came from scratch and made a new game based on the old one, it even had better graphics than original game's sucessor. it is possible but takes way too much effort and time to do it.

I think EA should just finish CnC F2P and the end the whole franchise.

I would rather have good memories of the good C&C's and not have to be ashamed because of a crappy move that ends up in a crappy game, and a series of crappy games + the fan base getting angry.

Put C&C out of its misery, before we get REALLY angry.
