I'm having a lot of difficulty submitting a map to CNC Labs for people to download from the site. Once I get to the point where you upload the map to the site, it just says that the page took too long to load so it stopped.

Is the service down? I've been trying for a couple of days now. And if so, is there another way I can do it?

Additionally, when I was looking through the rules for submitting maps, I noticed that it's strongly recommended to NOT put the map name in the "Map Name" text box in "Map Settings". Why is that? Isn't that how the game determines what the map is called? Without a name, you can't even play it in the game.

That applies to Generals/Zero Hour maps and not RA3. IF that's not clear, then the site should be updated.

It doesn't say anything about it being exclusive to C&C Generals. I'm guessing the stuff about Map Areas, Boundaries, and Waypoints is more-or-less primarily for Generals also?

Yes, they were a must in Gen/ZH. The question of it being update would be best answered by Mike. Though it probably should be. If I had time, I'd do it myself.

Yes. I believe you are referring to the "Reviewer Guidelines", which was written for Generals.

It may be written for Generals, but it's linked-to in any map-submission form. I went to submit a Red Alert 3 map and clicked on the link that simply said "Before submitting your map, please take a look at our review guidlines for C&C maps. Adhering to these will increase your chances of getting your map approved!"

Not once does it anywhere specify that it's exclusively-written for Generals.

But, y'know, that's fine. My real concern is how it's not letting me submit a map at all. Is there some other way I can submit a map? Or should I just keep trying?

Maps are coming through all the time, so it's working. Is the map folder Zipped up? Are you getting any upload errors?

I'll have the whole thing ready, including the zipped file including the map, minimap, readme, and some screenshots, hit the "Finish" button, and then it'll say "Sending request to www.cnclabs.com...", and after like 4-5 minutes it'll change the window to one that says "Problem loading page. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."

And it does this to me every single time I try to submit it. I load every other page on this site no problem, so I know it's not my computer or my network connection.

If you are still having trouble.. send your zipped map to me direct... I think you should still have my e-mail from that last review I did for you 😉 😄
