Ive got this upgrade for my Nuke Generals trucks that turns them into nuke-trucks by adding a weaponset. This is purchased as an upgrade at the supply depot. However I was thinking of having the upgrade locked unless you spend a generals point on it.
Is it possible to unlock an upgrade through sciences?

Yes. Look at the command button for the MOAB upgrade. It requires the fuel air bomb science before you can purchase it.
