When I edit the "StartingCash" entry of the Skirmish.ini file, from 50000 to 90000 or to 1000000, it makes no difference when I open the "Skirmish" setup screen. It still only allows me to start with 50000.

I'm new to this game, but it's already frustrating cause I can't get past "Easy Army" without getting my butt kicked - quick. I build my buildings and buy my "armies" as fast as my cash will allow, but the other guys are way ahead of me, unless I play "Easy Army". I'm about ready to sell the game to the highest bidder.

The AI attacks by waypoints, pre-determined paths on the maps. Study their attacks and you'll find these path, once you find them, defend them right at the start of each game. Always have a dozer repairing these defenses and have a few artillery units near them incase the AI sends in some artillery units. If you have access to air units, use them to take out enemies before they reach your base.

Changing the money in skirmish.ini WILL change the money, but you won't be able to see the change until you start a game.

It doesn't change after I start the game. No matter what I edit the SKIRMISH file with, the game starts at 50000 and winds down from there.
Maybe there's more than 1 "Skirmish.ini" file?

Did you remember to save it after you changed it?

Edit: also, don't click on the starting money other wise it will change back to 50k.
