that will be asked on my math test tomorrow but we (the others in my class) have no idea how to prove what is written below the picture. we asked several other people to but they weren´t able to help either 😞

so what needs to be proven is that corner ASL is equal to corner KCS (that the angle of both corners is thesame)

Srry, I dont know. But If my Dad saw this, He'd have it solved in a Heartbeat. But sadly, he died last year.

Btw, What Kind of Math is this? I might be able too look through his Collage books to find something that might help you.

Ok firron, loved geometry hopefully its not to late to help you, but obviously you would solve it with a proof. First, we know that because of the vertical angles between

i think i got the answer (just came to me when i was making the test).

it's a little bit hard to explain without a picture with my notes on it so i'll upload a picture in a moment, i hope i didn't screw up since i'm not sure if it's the right answer.

A1,2=C1,2
B1=A2
L=S2= 90 degrees
C1=D1=90 degrees - A2, or 90 degrees - B1
A1= 90 degrees - S1
A2= 90 degrees - D1= 90 degrees - C1

A1,2=C1,2
180 degrees - S1 - C1 = C1 + C2
180 degrees - 2C1 - S1= C2
180 degrees - 2C1 - C2 = S1

so S1=C2 so ASL = KCS

Wow, I actually understand your explanations.

One question though. What's the weird "L" before ASL and KCS? You never explaned anything about them.
In swedish I believe you call them "delta".
Like Delta ASL equals Delta KCS.

that "L" like sign refers to the angle of the corners. so there both corners should have an equal angle and should therefor be equal to eachother. or something like that

delta is a triangle.

"The Weird L" is just the symbol for "angle". So whenever you see that, say "angle Letter Letter Letter".

from what i heard from my classmates it seems i was the only one who answered that question at the test. i think i did quite well on the test, was able to answer all the questions, something i wasn´t able to do on the last test 2 months ago 😞

A couple things I don't get, how do you know B1=A2? How do you know the two L angles = 90? They look like they do, yes, but how do you know for sure?

for B1=A2 there is a certain rule which makes it so but i dont know what it's called in english. could only say that they are both created from 2 lines coming from points C and D, no matter where those 2 lines end up on the circle they will always together create a corner equal in angle to B1 or A2.

for L. there was some text with the question itself about a rule stating that if a line went from the middle of a side (DC) through S and then hit the side on the opposite side (AB) then it would create a corner of 90 degrees with that side (AB).
so i should have said in my first post that it was 90 degrees. sorry about that. πŸ˜›

turned out that i hadn't answered this questions how it was supposed to be answered but the teacher didn't have the time to check if my method was correct or not, he's going to do that soon so it might even go from an 8.4 to a 9.0 or higher. πŸ™‚
