"Alas, well after seeing so many topics about it its time to make something clear. its been 1,5 day after the release and a lot of ppl seem to have trouble with installing this mod, version0.93.

I have to admit, for PC newbs (if u have no clue what to do when we say 'zero hour folder' or 'extract them there', feel spoken to), the readme sometimes wont be enough for you to get it work.

this thread should fix it, all of them.

Well. I want to Install version 0.93 of Shockwave but i cant get it working!! what do I have to do!!

If you already have another version of Shockwave installed:

You can find your Zero hour folder: My Computer\C:\Program files\EA games\C & C Generals Zero Hour

Shockwave intro .bik you should find now. delete it.
Shockwave.cdd, OSW92.gib and Shockwave.exe are in the C & C Generals Folder. not in one of the folders inside. you can find them and delete them. its not that hard.

Also make sure you have updated to version 1.04, they said 1.02 would work, well if u want to take the risk go ahead but pls just go 1.04 so your 'problem' cant be found there.

if you accidentally deleted the wrong file. you have a problem. the only thing u must do is do is deinstall your whole Zero hour game, use the uninstall wizard. then you must delete your Zero Hour folder in the program files. (not the EA games folder. u dont need to delete C & C Generals original)

Reinstall Zero hour using the wizard. and patch using the above link.

now to install it, here comes the cruelty:
Basicly. u need a good extracter with this. some extracters dont even give u the option to extract it where u want it (though this is seldom). but i recommend Winrar, dont be feared that is shareware, when ur time is up u just get some stupid message u can click away, everytime u use it. its nothing like it gets blocked so..)

When you have downloaded and Installed Winrar, you can go to the location where you downloaded the SW093Beta file pack (about 93 MB). it should look like a stack of books now (if it dont then Winrar isnt correctly installed) all u have to do is double click it. Winrar will start up and you will see all the files inside the Shockwave pack.
Basically u can just choose your extraction location by selecting all the files in Winrar (using Ctrl + select *sigh*). push 'extract to', find your Program files\EA Gamed\C & C Generals Zero Hour folder and press OK.

everything u deleted from 0.92 should now be back, this time in its 0.93 version. u need all the files in the SW093Beta download pack. dont lose one of em. the file 0SW93.big should have a .big tag behind it. if its .gib then rename it. Dont change anything in the Shockwave folder u downloaded. just put it in your Zero Hour folder and dont you dare touch it.

you can just use the same launcher u had on your desktop as you used in 0.92. as said ur files are just replaced. so you will just link to the same location. finding the new launcher. which should have that new Airforce gen tank on it. (its blue!)

If its not working after this. then i gues u did something wrong, if 0.92 did work for you, but 0.93 didnt after u followed these orders. completely uninstall Zero Hour and reinstall. then follow the procedure again.

If ur asking: why did the Hunter torcher me like this and didnt just include such a handy installer?
Well I guess its because this is a BETA version. means its not finished yet. its just 'playable'. now u figure why The Hunter is talking about a patch already. they are not DONE with 0.93 so they wont start 0.95 either.biggrin.gif

Edit: ModToaster compatibility: because this mod is still beta i dont think The Hunter will put it on the ModToaster soon, when its completely done i have no doubt it will be on since this will be the version you will have to play for a long time.

if you have Shockwave installed on Modtoaster, there s not much of a problem. ModToaster doesnt require much of an Install of mods, only thing u do is remove the Shockwave package in your Zero Hour folder, and select the Shockwave in your modtoaster and press the delete button (this does not do anything but remove it from the list). then install your 0.93 version in the procedure above. you do not need to delete modtoaster or any of the other mods for this, at least i dont need to.

When you dont have any versions of Shockwave installed then u just skip the uninstall part..got it?
