This is so funny, really you fall off your chair from laughing...
Global warming is a hoax, fact is that all planets in our solar system have more extremes in weather and that is because of our changing Sun...
When the Truth began to come out about the global warming hoax they changed the name to climate change all of a sudden, just to save their skins, it is so funny to see those rats crawl in their own lies...
Planet Earth has been changing for billions of years and it keeps changing to the end of planet Earth, a small group of people just want to make money of it and a large group of people is dumb enough to buy the bullsjit...
Propaganda is a powerful tool if you have a dumbed down civilization...

An expedition with pro global warming people went out on a northern expedition to see how all the ice is disappearing and the expedition had to be cancelled because of “unprecedented” thick summer ice, the coast guard has never seen so many ice ever, lmao this is so funny, I would have given a lot of money to see their faces, off course they blame the “unprecedented” thick summer ice to climate change, it is becoming a slapstick for real...

You are right to some degree that our planet has a naturally changing climate in part due to the sun. However, the claim that climate change and/or global warming are hoaxes is somewhat misguided. You yourself stated:

Those extremes should take 100s if not 1000s of years. Human 'cars and industry' as you put it are the things that are speeding it up. While there are some who do indeed profit from the hype, there are many more who don't profit and spend a lot of money trying to mitigate the damage which WE DID DO.
The name change has no more meaning than changing the name of a chocolate bar.

Record cold temperatures on the Northpole...

Did a Google search again today for record cold and record warmth 2017, results:
Record warmth 2017: 5.150.000 results
Record cold 2017: 152.000.000 results
Ratio: 1:29
Im no math expert but i guess you can see the trend here, right?

Global warming is bullsjit fellaz, we might have some heat records here and there but the trend is cold, mini iceage is a fact...

First time ever, hailstorm in Kenya Nyahururu Area and it was on the ground for hours...

Another extreme...
Coldest temperature ever recorded in Greenland in July...

Global warming?

Take a look at history...Chinese dynasties collapsed with solar minimums, south American civilizations also collapsed during solar minimums, we are with billions of people now, you cant imagine the horror, when crops keep failing and food prices keep rising our economies will collapse for sure...

Demand is going up while yields are going down...

Greatest exporters are USA, EU, Russia and China so do the math when the northern hemisphere starts to cool and is getting wetter, the crops are failing as we speak...

You can think im a doom thinker but let history speak, when a solar minimum is present the world is in trouble, not my idea but fact...

The correct term is climate change.
Global warming was the old name but it didn't properly describe the effects. The only people who still call it global warming are those fighting against the idea and they use incidents like this to back up their point.

The issue isn't that the earth is getting hotter. The issue is that human activities are altering the natural weather system of the planet. Unless snow is normal in California, this could be an example of climate change.

Whether you believe in climate change or not, people should realise that attempting to protect the environment is not some great conspiracy to stop them driving cars or whatever. All it is is making sure that those cars don't cause too much damage.

Either way attempts to find replacement energy sources such as solar and wind aren't just due to environmental concerns. We are running out of oil and coal and so we will have to replace them anyway. The fact that they do less damage to the environment is just a bonus.
