Hello.
How to spawn a team of one unit on a waypoint, then respawn it when it is hijacked.
I think I know how to do the scripts, but I fail at creating the team.
The selected unit is not accepted as a member of the team.So team is created but now members in it.
Why is that?
Why "Common object properties" tab in "Edit team template" is greyed out?   Can_not_create_a_team-worldbuilderZH.7z (2,773kb) downloaded 43 time(s).

Looks like the problem is players starting positions.If I remove them, team spawns.
I've started to think that my copy of the game or worldbuilder is foocked up.

It's a multiplayer map.
Delete the waypoints named Player_1_Start Player_2_Start and it will work - team will spawn

How to spawn the team with those waypoints on the map?   Mission.7z (3kb) downloaded 18 time(s).

If it is a skirmish map then you shouldn't have to worry about scripting. The skirmish scripts should do it all for you.

Your reply looks way out of the question.Either you don't know what I ask or you are neglecting the question.No teams spawn without scripting.

It may seem off topic but it's actually important. If you're making a skirmish map then you shouldn't be scripting. If you're making a mission map for multiple people (perhaps like an AOD map) then you need a starting slot for each player AND one for the AI (usually in the corner or off the map entirely).

With starting points as I said above team does not spawn.Without them it spawns.
How to fix that?

Hmmm, could the problem be that the starting positions are in the way of the team spawning? I.e the spawning point is too close to the team spawning point.


Do you have any waypoints that mark where the team spawns. Because in multiplayer maps you still need starting positions, obviously. There should be waypoints called "TEAM1 SPAWN" or something along those lines. Team spawning does not directly affect the starting points. This shouldn't be happening. Then again WB can have quite the bit of errors. I can remember changing my map's name and then all of a sudden the AI stopped working....Yeah changing a map's name really has to do with the AI World Builder! lol

I've had a look and it seems to be exactly what i thought the problem was.
I'll post again once I've tested it.

UPDATE:
It was what I thought.

If you're making a multiplayer mission:
1. Change the team and scripts from the civ player to GLA 2. Make sure GLA is a third player (with their own start waypoint) when you load the game in the skirmish menu. 3. You don't need player0 as an actual player.

If you're making a single player mission:
1. You shouldn't have player starts. 2. All the player's starting units should be given to player0 3. You should still move the team and scripts to GLA (but only if you want them to be enemies). 4. Set up player0 to be GLA's enemy and vice versa.

I want to spawn a team belonging to player0.This is my final goal.
How to do it?Could you post the fixed map with spawning team belonging to player0 that works?

If that's for single player that's really easy. For multiplayer, much harder. Which is this mission supposed to be?

I still don't know what it is you actually want. I have given you the information you need and the other information is available on other threads. I have my own projects to work on and babying you isn't helping me complete them.

All you have to do is attach the fixed map.If this is too hard for you, let it be so.It looks like you only want to ask questions.What the mission is and sort of irrelevant crap thar does not concern you and at the same time you don't read my posts.It looks like to me you don't want to help, you want to make posts.Who knows why?
I guess you want to clutter my topic with useless posts so noone else could read it.

You are both right in a sense.


As for your map problem, Klingondragon is right,you need to have more specific details on what you want. It is your map so we can't figure out the problem unless you specify it more clearly bud 👍 .

Just do not argue any more please, all big "fire wars" start out small like this and then they grow to the point in which nothing gets done. Let's just start over on this and re-specify your problem there jman. 😁 😁

It's been a long time since I last did anything like this, so please excuse me if I've completely forgotten something.

1) Add Skirmish Players (if you haven't already) in Edit -> Edit Player List...

2) Delete PlyrCivillian

3) Import Skirmish Scripts from Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Data\Scripts (it's normally in Program Files)

4) Add Skirmish Players again

5) Put your scripts and teams in the PlyrCivillian folder
