Can I unpack a mod like contra so all the files are individual .

Find and open the mods big files. Most mods try to prevent you from opening the big files, so you often have to have the mod running before the big files appear in the game directory.
If you need help, post in the forum. You'll get help a lot faster than if you send me a PM.

If you don't know that by now, there is no point continuing. I directed you days ago to the basic modding tutorial which explains how to deal with .big files.

Nonono. I meant how to you make them all completely individual and not packed in sometinh call ini.big. That way I can mix and match files from different mods.

it is also explained in his tutorial..

If I recall correctly, Go to Edid and then Extract all and it should be extracted wherever you wanted.
after that you can edid all of the ini files individually
